your putter, regardless of brand, will only stay as square as your stroke allows it to be.

Sam I don’t know if you answer questions here on you tube, but I’m trying to figure out the arc stroke with the mez. Is the lab putters more efficient one way or the other between an arc stroke vs a sbst stroke? I am finding a more wristy, arc stroke like with a toe flow putter is the feeling I like with the mez but I’m not positive that’s the best use of the putter. Can you point me to a video where you address this or maybe provide some insight?? Thanks!

Curious if this training aid works with DF2.1, DF3, or even Mezz considering the mallets extend quite a bit further toward the feet of the device.

Mass balanced putters (HONU) or near mass balanced putters like (lab) don't wobble on the ark which makes this device helpful as a testing and training instrument. All the other putters which do have twisting and wobble make this educational tool helpful but doesn't translate to improved play as much as because the putters with torque inhibit the strokes and face stability.

Watching this and the geometry is off. The ground track of the putter head (or any reference point along the shaft/putter) does appear as an arc, due to the vertical movement of the putter head as you swing it back. If you keep the putter grounded (an unrealistic stroke) the ground track would not arc, it would be perfectly straight back. That is because on an inclined planes the higher areas are offset left of the target line (for anything above the level of the target and offset RIGHT of the target line for areas of the plane BELOW target, which doesn't matter because you can't push the putter head underground). The putter face however does NOT open relative to the target at any point in the stroke. It stays absolutely perpendicular to the target line. However as you raise the putter vertically it becomes offset left of target line, but the face is still 100% perpendicular to target. In effect it is the same phenomenon as that appears in the ground track arc. The only thing that would cause the head to open relative to target line would be rotation of the shaft, which the board does not allow. The face angle does change by the way, but only in the vertical plane, in other words at you take the backstroke the putter face will remain perpendicular to the target line, offset left, and de-lofted relative to address.

I bought a DF 2.1 46” broomstick last fall lightly used and had decent success for a few rds before the season ended. Was scared traveling with it during offseason and did ok w std length odyssey….still gave broomstick a chance in spring and struggled w distance and occasionally brushing the ground on way back or through, so put it away….. Until: lost in scratch semi’s of match play 2&1 after 6 three putts. Brought broomstick back out, found getting my right arm externally rotated until it brushed my torso added stability, and have been lights out since. Shot 70 in tough conditions from back tees yesterday where GIR was more difficult than normal thanks to better than std pitching, but even moreso 25 putts. Started with it two weeks ago as a 4.4 index, now 2.2 and headed lower averaging nearly 4 birdies/rd over 5 rounds. Retiring in two weeks (61 y/o) and excited i might start playing the best golf of my life, thank you L.A.B. I AM SOLD!

I never had issues with a wobbly backswing which is my issue with my new lab.( had it for a couple of weeks now). The other issue I’m having (that i never had with my SC is getting the ball to the hole. It seems I’m short more than before… I really like the feel at contact, hope i can resolve my issues.,…ugh

We can totally help! What you are experiencing is what we call the torque hangover. You are applying forces to steady the putter to accomodate torque that is no longer there. Have you seen the thumbs off drill? Search youtube for "Lab golf thumbs off" and you'll see it. Lemme know if that helps

@L.A.B. Golf can you please show this demonstration with your revealer with a truly center shafted Seemore putter? The blade Seemore you show first, the FGP20 is not true center shafted, it is only close to center shaft and it is also 90 degree toe hang. So the fact it had that little torque is impressive. I want to see your revealer tool with a Seemore PVD "Pure Center Blade" or the PVD model C that also has zero toe hang. Would you be transparent enough to show if your putters are the only truly lie angle balanced putters on the market? As an informed consumer, my interest has peaked by this no torque idea. I don't own either a Seemore or a L.A.B. putter yet, but it's nice to know if there are options at different price points.
@labgolf
@labgolf Ай бұрын
That SeeMore putter is one of the lowest torque putters around. It's not zero torque, but it's one of the closest. The issue is how poorly it performs on off-center hits.

@@labgolf thanks for the reply! I finally got my hands on your putters for the first time testing in my local big box store yesterday, and welp… I have a custom order df3 already in the queue! Officially a believer in the automatic putting and that no torque is the future.

Another thing that poor short putters have is that they have no concept that there is a difference between the putter blade rotating relative to the target, and staying perpendicular (unrotated) to the path plane (your scorecard). They confuse opening and closing relative to the target but not rotating relative to the perpendicularity with the path plane. They see one and not realize the need for the other. They see the blade opening and closing to the target but do not realize the blade CANNOT rotate relative to the path plane. This is very easy to prove and newer training devices do. It can also be proven with a square putter shaft running on a stair step above the step where the ball is rolling. Get set for a shocker ! What you see is rotation with no rotation.

The biggest difference between these two broomsticks is onset. MEZZ.1 MAX has less since the shaft is closer to the face, and DF3 has more since the shaft is farther away from the face. Neither is better or worse. It's simply a preference.
