I remember being so desperate for work experience in hospital that i bought an NHS lanyard and walked into my main acute trust onto the cardiothorasics ward asking random nurses questions etc eventually i got called up by the main pharmacist asking who i was i said i need experience and pleaded my case to him. He was so impressed by my determination to bypass ward security messures i did 6 months of experience work and secured an interview 😂. If you're reading this plesse dont do what i did as i could have got into major trouble but morel of the story is showing up and proving your enthusiastic and driven

I was watching your old movies as I'm looking to change from community to hospital or primary care and it's so helpful! I'm so glad to see one up to date now.

One thing I'd also mention is that there are loads of A-Level/med students on there as well mainly to connect with other students who share opportunities. There's also people within the NHS who post careers-related posts dedicated for those students.

8 months later, I respond to this 😅. Just like you I have been in both sectors and I will say all the points you made are the reason why I enjoy my role as a GP pharmacist. My only wish for this career is that we start getting paid better salaries 😅. If you plan on doing your IP then please keep us updated 👏🏾

Esomperazole interactions 1. With citalopram- it is increases its effect on the body 2.with methorexate ( MTX) - it decreases its clearance especially at high doses of MTX

I love the realistic example. This is my second time around with GD and I feel I know my body well enough and have control over my blood sugar levels to have cheat days. I've only come across videos saying no carbs, no sugars and 5 small meals a day! Which for me as someone who usually fasts for 15 to 20 hours a day comfortably, it has been quite difficult. I also only have about 2 nutritious meals a day as well as 1 maybe 2 healthy snacks and don't feel I'm starving myself or my baby. I've discovered, I can have my cheat days and do some nice cardio or go for a long walk for about 20 - 30 mins and my levels are perfect. Even after a slice of chocolate cake! But I obviously do not make a habit of it and eat no simple carbs and sugars the rest of the time.

Hi! I was hoping to get some advice from you. I am a FTM and a soon to be newly qualified pharmacist. I’m struggling to find something flexible, is there any advice you could give on what type of role I should go for and the type of area I should work in (this is just to keep up my registration btw!)

I find both work environments are too different and that's what makes them great If you love multitasking, doing alot of clinical - drug work and also being in big community, you can chose hospital or clinical pharmacy work in general while if someone prefer to be more of a patient facing person or love that interaction and investigation aspect they can go to GP practices

I always wonder why people choose this job (to be a parent) and then complain…? Surely you’d want to prepare yoursef to be a mum before baby arrives, no? Either way, good luck. Being a parent is obviously not easy; is a all-year, 24/7 job and it is something I’ll never be able to relate to 💙
