Way back in the 80's I had a 72 V8 Vega that was about the same color purple. Looks great.

Nice! Do you have any idea what a vega would run with a stock 5.3. My daughter(18) want to get into racing.

@andykasinec76477 жыл бұрын
Mack Turner I currently have a truck pan that I modified, I will be switching to a Holley retro fit because the truck one hangs so low.

Mack Turner I posted a vid of the pan

Thats badass, Nice job. Are those the power by ace headers? If so, did you use the entire swap kit from them? (Mounts, Headers, Pan kit, Etc.)

I ran a 406 for years, great combo, car ran 9.32 with it...then after six years and 3400 passes, a rod decided it didn't want to be in the motor anymore.

well this was from last season, since then I went with a larger cam, different heads, bigger carb, swapped converter, and pulled 280# out of her...best et so far is 9.77 and getting better. it's been a hot humid summer.

@andykasinec76478 жыл бұрын

Andy Kasinec Hi are you using the powerbyace headers/swap kit? If so how do you like the fit? thanks
@andykasinec76477 жыл бұрын
Yes, those headers fit like a glove !! I'm using a motor plate, not their motor mounts.
@Allianceoffroad7 жыл бұрын
Andy Kasinec Thanks Andy! Are you on the H body forum? If so im 6D9 on the site. Im going to get the kit soon. Sucks you can't call the place! Hard enough to get a replied email lol

I used to run a 406 and PowerGlide, was a perfect combo, the LS platform seems to be a better balanced engine and if you put work in it, can make great horsepower. I'd go with the LQ9 and 400th.

What kind of et/mph are you seeing out of this thing with the basically stock 6.0?
@andykasinec76478 жыл бұрын
Matt, I have yet to have the heads off to see if it is a LQ4 or LQ9, but the head are #716 and the cam is the stock one that came in the engine. The engine was pulled from a 2500 series 2001 GMC with 13 thousand miles on it...only mods are headers and a Holley Intake and Holley Carb. Plans are to swap cam, heads and bigger carb and rods/pistons

Andy Kasinec Hey Andy was wondering if I could give you a call about the LS swap. Torn between the sbc and LS in my 72. I have not seen ya on the H body forum in a while. Thanks Ron
