Also not to complicate matters but for your final build have you consider how much time it will take larre to complete one full pass of all the trays, harvest and replant before the plants have regrown. I think I've caught a little bug. During minute 17 of the second hour, you walk in to the storage/manufacturing area and make a transformer. Then at minute 18 start making cables. The object inside the printer is clearly still transformer. Has that always been the case that the displayed printing object is the previous printed item?

When hollowing out a hill you could place pipes on the outside where they are sunken into the ground, then as you dig you can pull out a pipe and look around to see if it snaps to anything or if you’re safe to keep digging. A bit cheesy perhaps but considering you don’t have very good options for doing measurements it’s a workaround. Or place a beacon.

LARrE can currently only pickup from a hydroponics bay and a special conveyer pickup port. and they can only place in hydroponics bay a different conveyer port or floor. (afaik this is what is going to be expanded on with future updates)

In my Vulcan playthrough, I actually decided to try the other way around for obtaining water. That is - instead of feeding oxygen into the H2 combuster to make water, I'll be skipping that entire setup and going straight to feeding the oxygen to a rocket that's going to mine water ice. Results are still pending... but either way, it'll be interesting =P

@ 1:20:00 you could put the stairs in the wall like your stairs in the coridor. if you put them on the back wall ( back being behind you when you are in the lab part and overlooking the growing area) then you can have those stairs go down to main grow area, and to basement, and up to the new greenhouse where you setup a LARrE or 2.

A single fully depleted oil well can power _a lot_ of flamethrower turrets. So no, they don't become "practically useless" or "effectively zero". And when you have several oil wells like in that oil field you've basically got what you need to survive indefinitely. Oil is one of those strange things in Factorio where it's _effectively_ unlimited. All the other things are limited, but oil and water isn't.

Hi @Splitsie ! I am wondering, would having doubled up on the windows in the super heat-hut given you double the heat generation within it? Like your windows are on the grid blocks outside the cube spaces inside the room, if you put windows on the inner walls as well so they are double thick will that double the heat or would the inner window block the heat of the outer window?

@Splitsie Hiya Splitsie! (Also much love to the ever-sexy Capac.) 2 Things: One I was hoping you would do the two-tone squares for the ceiling in the greenhouse. Paint them blue so the high ceiling gives that "trying to make a fake sky indoors" look that you always see in scifi films. Secondly, as to the stacker setting the crafting number to the printers, it is actually MUCH easier than it sounds. I have done it (from scratch and without tutorials) and my head didn't explode or even start leaking marshmallow fluff outta my ears. You can fit 3 printers (don't really need it for the toolprinter) and 3 stackers on one chip. Basically just set the stacker to the amount to make, chip says 'when printer output equals that setting, turn printer activation off'. It is a VERY short and VERY easy MIPS code. I even made mine so when the printer is turned off the stacker shuts off too (to save power). Additionally since mine were outside and storms were an issue (on mars) I put a single line in before the looping that tells the stackers to not spit out items when the stack hits full. I would love to see you give it a try, even if you just tare it down after just to make a point to the pro-stacker folk. I have complete confidence that you could do it with ease and I'd love to see you get into the IC stuff more. What little you have done so far you did well! I think if you let yourself dabble in the MIPS stuff more you would be able to come up with some really neat things!

Prepping fish has an element of RNG to it. You'll always get the fillets, fish bones and oil. Anything else you might get, you might not. Also interesting to see how far you got after tanking those turrets. Makes me wonder how much further you'd get without turning them off (but you'd miss out on some nice stuff regardless.)

rather than a heat exchanger into the tank why not a heat exchanger into the greenhouse area above the gas place. also the water probably turned solid which took even more heat and the solid could exist for a tiny bit but then the condensation chamber tried to keep turning it into solid which just broke both of the gas pipes. just have that co2 pressurized at lower than 5 megapascals and it should be ok.

From my use of the distribution pad, ammo will only be pulled from your inventory and placed into storage if there are partial stacks in said storage. Example: say you have a partial stacks of 30 9mm in a crate and 64 9mm on your person. The pad will pull 34 9mm off of you and place it into the crate to fill the stack to it's max of 64. While I have not been as critical with other materials, I do believe it will move other materials regardless of the max stack state because of how much I collect.
