The shield is too heavy for its size since micros are known for being 17-18 oz. The only thing the shield has going for it is the brand name

Nothing compares to the Glock 26 but the Canik Elite SC. It is the only contender worth considering. For the record no other gun manufacturer has done what Glock and now Canik is doing. Canik is challenging Glock on every platform in its class. For that matter a better comparison would be between the Canik MC9 Mete vs Glock 43X… Nice job Canik

I just bought the STR-9MC today. Upon getting home, I found I had a 10 and 13 round magazine, both with extended pinky base plates. Both DO lock the slide back. I never rely on the slide locking back as I typically ride the slide release, meaning odds of the slide locking back (on any gun not prefixed with CZ) are a flip of the coin. As to the price comparison, you said they are essentially the same, but with the rebate, the Stoeger is $100 less (75% of the Shield's price) so I'd definitely give the Stoeger the advantage (though accessories would be cheaper for the Shield, so eventually it'd even out). Been waiting for someone to do some verses with the mc9

I had the same issue with the slide not locking back with extended mag. I sent it back to Stoeger, it took about 4 weeks to get it back, here are the details of the repair; Replaced follower in extended mag. Replaced the slide lock lever. I have put 100 rds 115 gr. 100 rds. 147 gr.(which is my defense rd) The problem seems to be solved for now and hopefully forever.

The canik is a mix of the Glock,M&P and an H&K VP9. It has something from everyone one of those.

I went with the Stoeger because of it's good reviews and affordability. I'm curious what you think about the Springfield micro Hellcat as well.

Cool video man. That's crazy that it came out of the box already sighted in. I have the Barnett XP380. It's the same crossbow just a different camo pattern and mine has straight limbs instead of the tapered ones. I wish mine had the tapered limbs. I like the way they look. And I might as well mention that I also have the XP400 and the Whitetail Hunter STR Pro from Barnett. They are really good quality crossbows.

I love my P365XL. Great ergos, sights, trigger, plus more. I also have a P365 grip for deep concealment. A little over a 1,000 rounds. No issues

Canik is a clear winner. better trigger, better ergonomics, better sights, and the price is unbeatable. closing in on 1k rounds and zero issues.

I have this gun and the slide lock with the empty ext.mag does malfunction. Please let me know what you find out.

If the Glock has been your EDC over a longer period of time, it will, of course, shoot better for you. Your comparison is slightly biased.

I agree in this day and age with micro pistols becoming smaller and smaller with double stack magazines holding 10 rounds. I think the G26 is still a good gun, but a little obsolete for the times we live in. I still carry my G26, because I love Glocks and it’s reliable. My primary carry gun is the Ruger Max 9.

I love the Glock 30SF. It is a perfect carry gun and I love having it in my rotation. It shoots like butter.

Definitely curious about this one. Would love to see the head to head comparison with the Shield plus and the p365!

Has a very good grip texture very good slide finish good trigger and reset and a nice adjustable rear sight for 350 out the door got 200 flawless rounds through it and l shot this little gun very well and its reliable and dependable so far both 11 and 13 round magazines lock my slide back weird one 11 round does 3 others 13 rounds don't

Good review I owned the str9c very accurate pistol but now I may get the str9mc to be mine edc..

I picked up a STR-9MC a couple weeks ago and my 13 round magazine does lock back. Super odd that so many had the same issue. I have several Stoeger pistols and I have only had to do a warranty claim on one. The customer service is really good for warranty claims.
