Looking at other tutorials I’ve really struggled to grasp this technique, but yours seemed to be much easier and clearer to understand. I still need lots of practice to make it smooth but feel more confident adapting your method, thank you. 🙏

The principle behind this trick is that the sum of the non-face cards is 220, so the missing card is difference from next 10's, A variation that includes the face cards: (1) If you count jack as 11, queen as 12, and king as 3. The sum of all 52 cards is 364. (2) Subtract the final digit-sum from 14 (instead of 10). Cast out any tens-digit. The ambiguity is when the difference is 1,2, or 3. If 1 it is a king or a 3; if 2 it is a queen or a 2; if 3 it is a jack or ace. Then scan the deck to resolve the ambiguity.

I think it would be great if the magician would get a piece of a paper, write what card the spectator would cut to, and put the piece of paper in the box. This alternative I think would also work as a great magic trick.

Here’s a tip. Don’t say anything like “just cut it a bunch, it doesn’t really matter” or “cut it as much as you want”. Don’t even give them the option, or talk about shuffling or cutting. You should be doing it and then just give it to them and go straight to the behind the back part. Say something like “ put these behind your back and cut it once or twice and then pick the card”. A lot of the time people will just mess it up and you have to be careful how you word it

Hey bro, i followed you for 7 or 8 years. I like your style and i appreciate that you are doing street magic especially with Jonathan. I wanted a comment about this trick. In first impession i thought this is a fake video. But i watched carefully in second time and i get it. I think, this trick has a problem: If your spectator wants to examine the card, he/she can see distinction about cards. I don't want reveal so much detail but i hope you can understand me. Keep going brother, greetings from Türkiye.

You’re on the right track ;) But I will say that if you watch the video again, I hand them the card to examine it, and they can confirm it is truly the exact same card that they signed, with their name and everything.

@@AMillionCardTricks I got it bro. And i know what you are doing (top change). I liked this version very much. Especially, this could be very difficult to reach someone pocket and put the card in here. Please keep going on street performance.

@@alper_kurtWhile you are correct in a sense, this trick requires great audience management to prevent what you said from happening. And it was executed perfectly. Perfect audience management will stop an examination of the card from happening before you want it to. Very well done Nathan. Mission accomplished..... minds blown. 👏👏

For some reason this reminds me of Graham jolly's mathematical card trick Even though these two are not at all similar but the fact that they look almost impossible to figure out as spectators shows the beauty that lies in these tricks

Given that you asked the group who hadn't helped you yet at the very beginning, I'm willing to bet the 'plant' happened during a previous trick where the guy who ended up with the card in his pocket, was a helper. Very fun trick though.

@WhiteCranK 25 күн бұрын
For me the trick died when you started to draw on the spectators card as well.. Also the spectator didn't like that moment as you can clearly see in his face when you're doing it. Doesn't need an IQ of 150 to know why you're doing that ;)
