how long does one bag last (approximately)
@RealPangeaReptile
@RealPangeaReptile 2 күн бұрын
It depends on your gecko's age, and how much they eat, but a 2 oz bag has approximately 12-24 servings for adults/subadults. This results in it lasting about 1-3 months for a single gecko.

I'd like LEDs vs 5-7 t5's for low light but planted habitats. I've a Leo and while I'm building a bio I am concerned for live plants getting light they need. Of course he'd have hides and I'm looking at ponytail palm etc to hang over substrate for shade day time. Godzilla started without light except from room but now that I have him he has UVB 5.0. I will be placing a shade dweller t5 in new bio-habitat.

@RealPangeaReptile 2 күн бұрын
As long as he has shade and hides, bright light during the day should be completely fine for him (assuming he's not an albino)! Keep in mind that in the wild, they live in semi-arid to arid environments which have strong sunlight in the middle of the day. That being said, if you are concerned about light output, consider an LED light for your plants that can be set on a schedule to brighten and dim throughout the day. Most consumer smart bulbs can do this, and Arcadia's LumenIZE lights can as well!

I'm not in to reptiles, but I wonder if a xenon arc lamp would work even better, as they produce all the wavelengths that the sun does, with a perfect color rendering index and color temp. You can buy a 35w xenon headlight for about $30, plus the ballast.

That's a great idea, but upon looking into it further, we wouldn't recommend it without testing the UV index output. These lamps put out an intense amount of UV light, and even though UV-B is beneficial to reptiles, too much can still be harmful. It would be interesting if this UV output could be dialed in for reptile keeping though!

How can you prevent mold on grapevine wood?
@RealPangeaReptile
@RealPangeaReptile 5 күн бұрын
Going bioactive and including springtails in your clean-up crew can help keep it under control! Otherwise, allowing the enclosure to have dry periods between humidity spikes if possible for your reptile can help mitigate mold growth.

We would not recommend it. The 12"x12"x18" is great for the juvenile as it grows, but once it becomes an adult, we would recommend at minimum an 18"x18"x24" enclosure.

I Did a positive Growth and breeder review video.first time trying Pangea. What I found is Pangea gives Best feeding response hands down! , geckos love it ! and eat it like it's going out of style. He would not eat any other crested gecko diet and was only eating crickets before trying Pangea. Now he's eating both! thank you so much for your hard work that you put into your food! And I will only be buying Pangea in future. Also put your sticker on my gecko Enclosure. So I hope you don't mind free advertisement lol 😂 have a wonderful day!

Groups of females certainly can do well, but careful considerations have to be taken to ensure they don't see each other as challengers for resources. Experienced keepers like you can definitely provide that proper care, but in general, we would recommend most keepers avoid that risk.

I have a question what is the difference between the regular Pangea crested gecko food and the breeding and growth version bc I’m looking to get one and if the breeding and growth one actually has a difference then I will get it
@RealPangeaReptile
@RealPangeaReptile Ай бұрын
Thanks for asking! The Growth and Breeding formula has higher levels of protein and fat from insect sources, as well as the maximum calcium levels recommended for a crested gecko. These differences exist to promote growth in young geckos, and to help breeding adults stay healthy.

We actually don't know what his parents look like since the breeder he originated from didn't keep good records. That being said, we do know that genetically, he's a strong yellow tiger, so it's very likely that his parents were both yellow tigers as well.
