I guess one problem with Emirates immaculately maintaining the cabin is that the seats last longer, so probably won't be retrofitted as soon as you'd like!

The building and the beach are very nice. Breakfast is lame but if it were free, that could be looked over, and if the dinner prices were lower and if the broke ass loungers were free...surely they don't charge for the broken ones do they?!

That's a major lapse. The folks saying 'who cares etc', don't get the bigger picture, that a miss like this can lead to people dying if there's a major incident. I was stunned the crew made the situation worse by deciding NOT to play the safety video promptly on the issue being reported. Like wth. I hope someone in Lufthansa senior team reaches out to you.

Horrible crew and terrible reaction. But implying that flying with Lufthansa isn’t safe because of that is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Sure thing they will probably get punished from not following their duties correctly, but that’s that. They way you’ve started the video seemed like the captain had decided to fly with only 2 engines and 2 extra mins of fuel reserves 😂

Thank you for sharing this video. As you very rightly point out there was a serious breach of safety and it does call into question the ENTIRE cabin crew on the flight. Surely, they would have noticed that something was amiss on their start of duty for the flight. Secondly, if there were not one, but two pursers on the flight, wouldn't they have recognised that there was something wrong? As you mentioned, this was not a 100% full flight, so what was the purser so stressed about? Perhaps that is why there was a second purser to observe. This is all supposition and I don't think unless you are in the position you were in I should be making any assumptions, so I will stop. I recently flew on a short hop from Melbourne to Sydney. One of the cabin crew passed through the cabin not long after I had sat down and fastened my seat belt noticed I had opened up the Safety Instruction Card and was reading. They commented this was the first time in quite some time that they had seen a passenger take the card out of the seat pocket, and commented that they were glad I took their job seriously. For me, it was because it has been sometime since I have flown and I wanted to make sure I was familiar and doing the right thing on the flight. Airlines (especially in light of the recent incident in Tokyo where JAL lost one of their A350s), place a lot of emphasis on your safety and wellbeing while on their aircraft. I truly feel in this case, Lufthansa has a case to answer for and perhaps the entire cabin crew complement for the flight need to be sent back to training to understand that a critical part of their job had been neglected, and that their commitment to their job needs to be reassessed. In relation to the cleanliness of the aircraft, that's seriously disgusting.

I totally accept your complaint / legitimate concern about the safety video and I won’t comment on that further. My comment is to address the dirty / filthy aircraft. I flew my first flight on Thai business class on a 777 to Delhi from Bangkok. The aircraft was not at an airbridge. We were stuffed into buses and driven seemingly many kilometres to what appeared to be a graveyard of aircraft with some missing engines etc. But there was our 777 was waiting. It was filthy. The seats were in terrible condition. I was absolutely astounded. My next flight was Thai 777 Katmandu to Bangkok some weeks later. Dreading it, to my surprise it was immaculate and superb. I have since flown on Thai countless times and never experienced anything like the flight to New Delhi. My conclusion - flights to India don’t get much priority in the cleanliness or other departments.

Any chance the safety video may have been played on the lower deck while it didn't play on the upper deck and the flight attendants on the upper deck kept waiting and waiting for the instruction to do the manual demo which never came?
