Great counter. I never learned this one specifically (wish I did, I love head and arm no other take down feels so simply satisfying when you land it right) but then again there were only a couple times I really had to try countering a guy that uses the snake. My school used it a lot, it was like our signature move, so I didn't have to worry about it so often since it was my team that used it the most. Learned how to defend against it my first week at practice. As soon as other schools got word they avoided using it on us for good reason. Another point is that the snake is completely useless if you can stay on your feet. You lose all mobility if your knees touch the mat when you're getting snaked, you instead keep your legs posted and your ass up from the ground. Your opponent might waste all their energy tugging you down and pushing back and forth. Guys that use the snake will try to shake you forward and back, just stay on your feet and let them waste their energy. I won a match once by waiting him out and catching him in a cradle for the pin after he was exhausted. He practically was about to fall over already and all I had to was stay on my feet, not get dragged around. I remember how hard he was breathing like he could of passed out any second. All I did was keep standing until he was ready to lose, I can't repeat this enough. A guy using the snake wants you to drop to your knees, instead keep your center of gravity up. Some wrestlers get so obsessed about using the snake that you can neutralize their entire arsenal by just learning how to defeat it. They're almost as bad as guys who only rely on the headlock three seconds into every match. As soon as you learn to counter it, you're automatically better than that wrestler because you have more moves. Like beating an ace high with your full house, using every card instead of just one. You know you're against a snake guy when he keeps pushing you back and dragging you forward like he's begging you to just please get on your knees. Refuse it and stand right where you are. Do not let him control your momentum, you can get tricked into falling forward if you don't keep your cool. He'll tire himself out, and you could even just fall on him at that point for the pin. It takes a LOT more energy for the guy trying to snake you to get you into position than it does for you to resist it and keep standing. The snake only catches n00bs. Don't be a n00b.ave to worry about it so often since it was my team that used it the most. Learned how to defend against it my first week at practice.

This fight had a massive size disadvantage. In boxing or wrestling that would be unimaginable. It would be considered fight fixing or cheating. Thirteen pounds is way too much!

Wrestling is so gay, and if this was a real fight this move is useless unless you don’t have a nose since it would be a puddle from the elbows you’d eat
