I got a hit listening to the engine screamin'n, damn a lot of spirit in the car and the driver. Thanks for posting. I lived in Shepparton right next to a Ford dealer in the early 70's saw every new model arrive, when the fruit growers had a bumper season these were purchased and driven around town.

That sound makes me shed tears of joy ..the fact that mankind devised a way of making this beast and to have this beast spit fire and millions of explosions all in the name of being better.

RIP to all the Aussie manufacturers. When we lost them all, we lost all the toolmakers, investment casters, plastic manufacturers, lights, etc etc etc, thousands and thousands of people lost their jobs, Australia lost a solid industry. Didn’t need to happen.

Yes , very sad indeed mate , back in the 70`s i worked in the motor industry at a couple of ford dealerships and a holden dealership , as each year our stupid politicians made it harder for local car makers to be profitable to the point that car makers from over seas could make them and ship them over at often cheaper prices , a very sad record , that every car maker in Australia over the decades and we had quite a few either left for greener pastures or went bankrupt . And one of the things that many people do not understand is the car industry supported and gave jobs to a whole range of workers from skilled to low skilled , and in the early years when they where still doing well , a lot of employees had jobs for life , paid off their houses , put their kids through school . And this work particiapation gives everyone a fair go to better themselves , the crime rate was very low , but now the country is a shit show . These days , politicians who themselves are perked up and on easy street , do not see value in workers unless they are of the high skilled variety . But in life that is not how humans operate , schools turn out tradesmen , office workers , a percentage of jumbo jet pilots , rocket scientists , teachers , and a decent percentage of people who will probably always be in the lesser skilled range for most of their lives , and these salt of the earth people that work hard their whole lives , strive to do good for their familys , and these people keep the gears of the economy turning , the mums and dads these days do it much harder i think , a lot more working poor , and not working , as a lot of the industry we once had an abundance of is just gone . textiles and other manufacturing we once had a lot of , mostly gone due to government policy favouring imports , i could go on . Much of the old good things we had that made Australia the lucky country , are just gone , and we have buffoons running the country . At least listening to the XY brings back some old good memories :). i remember as a young bloke on the north side of Melbourne , there used to be warm GT`s and monaros everywhere , and the old Vals too , i had a mate that had a warm V8 valiant , he used to go to the wreckers and buy 10 diffs at a time :) , fun times .

The CLEVELAND POWERED, POWERED Xy FALCON is my opinion BETTER than the Chevrolet 350 ,don't get me wrong the small block 350 cubic engine was a master piece ,even sometimes greater than its bigger engines, and the 350 Chevrolet did it for some 60 years give or take, but the CLEVELAND built nearly 55 years ago, lm talking real deal CLEVELAND motors back 50 years ago or more, gave the small block cubic Chevrolet 350 a fright of it's life , but took a bit of mucking around to get the Cleveland right, and yes they did, personally I think the CLEVELAND is better than it's relative the 351 Windsor , if more time and money of course, and patience the CLEVELAND could have been one of the greatest engines small block like the 359 small block, and the 350 is the best motor that Chevrolet ever created

SMALL ,BLOCK , AND WAS A INCREDIBLY RARE MACHINE ,AND THE QUICKEST THING YOU OR ANYONE, COULD GET THERE HANDS ON ,THE TRUE CLEVELAND POWERED MOTOR ,OBVIOUSLY BUILT IN A AMERICA , THE CLEVELAND IS SOME WHAT MORE TAMMED , HEAR IN AUSTRALIA ,,AND GOES THE WINDSOR POWER, PLANT AS WELL,,TAKE CARE EVERYONE AND BEST, FOR THE FUTURE

This is just music to my ears. Man the 1960's to 1970's were such a great time in Australia. I was born in 1973 so kind of grew up in the 70's,80's and 90's. They were so much better than nowadays like today. And i have had a lifelong love for Ford's although in my later years have grown to love all Aussie made cars of the time from Holden and Chrysler and Ford. There was this kind of racist thing going on in the 1980's when idiot people would say racist disparaging things about certain car brands. I remember it myself.

IF THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE SUPER CAR SCARE BACK IN 1972.73, THE CLEVELAND POWERED SMALL BLOCK WOULD STILL BE THE ONE TO ,GIVE ANYTHING FOR THE RUN OF ITS MONEY , THOSE CLEVELAND'S WITH THE SOLID CAM 4V HEADS COULD HAVE BEEN A KILLER EVEN TODAY, THEY ARE and still are one of most powerful vehicle drivers pretty much would GET THERE HANDS ON, AND OF COURSE BACK IN THOSE DAYS NO RESTRICTION , ASPIRATED ENGINES , AND JUST GO FOR IT , FOR EXAMPLE EVEN THE, BIG CUBIC INCHES ENGINES BACK THEN ,ASPIRATED ENGINES WERE PUNCHING OUT TONNES OF HORSEPOWER AND GOING BACK SOME 50 TO, 6O YEARS AGO, ANYWAY GUYS AND GIRLS TAKE CARE AND A SAFE MERRY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR

Just want to say once ❤again that GT of Michael Anderson,s has the most beautiful sound to it, guys and girls, don't get me wrong, the Chevrolet has great sound to it as well, and the good old 308 cubic five litre had a nice sound to, but I would have to say that 351 4V CLEVELAND, really does sound terrific, and of course you know it does go like a rocket, straight line speed, you know it's incredible 50 odd years ago the things could have been pushing 300 kmh, if it wasn't for the super car scare in around 1972,73 give or take , that's what those cars would have been capable of, yes the Chevrolet ,the the pace hemi 6 cylinder motors, xu1 torana 6 cylinder as well both of the 6 cylinder engine s Holden and the valiant, had some puch especially the 245,or 265 hemi donks , .
