What a charming man makes me sick what a loss
@edouglaspratt15 күн бұрын
Mercy, mercy, please. It seems John had profound childhood losses. Through his youth, he covered his grief and fears with bravado that often came out as bitter sarcasm and cruel anger. As a young man he would mug drunks and, when one resisted, John beat him severely then feared he'd left the man for dead. His moderate poly-substance use disorder was growing at this time, a disease which he'd try in vain to control. His brilliant wit and songwriting talent enabled him to use the Beatles to build a broad support network which enabled his addictive disease. As his disease became severe he became increasingly violent, seeking bar fights as entertainment with his friend Harry Nillson. He once grabbed Peter Lawford by the collar and put his fist to Lawford's face (Lennon sent an explicit apology the next day which confirms the story). Demonstrating hippie values was a feeble best effort to counter his rage and self-hatred; he was powerless over his childhood grief and illness, and his addictions were enabled by so many people, that he didn't stand a chance. -Doug Pratt, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Real punk wasnt ever about politics. The pistols made it political because they had nothing and where poor and needed to release anger, Johnsy was a self confessed common theif😆. Politics is for boring adults bickering over things they cant fix. Politics doest concern young rebelious teens, all they want is sex drugs and loud rocknroll. The RAMONES where the first real punk band. The sex pistols started on about social issues confusing American punk ideology with British Snot Hooligans. Never mind the bollocks as great as it was, was the absolute fluke of the century.

okay... i see alot of people commenting about john lennon like its their friend or something... just to get things clear John Lennon is JOHN LENNON. He is a man remembered as a legend, he was an artist only by that he was not an ordinary person like you and me... his mind was different than us second he was in the beatles in the biggest band in the world at the time and even today... and final it was a different era... today is the era of people who act like they've just had lobotomy... that was the era where it was more acceptable because he is the man... im not saying thats a good thing but even then and after all of these he regretted his actions and became better... i personally believe after 1968 he got a little insane from drugs and all but even then he is a legend you cant judge him because someone uploaded a video on youtube for you to comment on... like hate other people hate putin or someone else you cant hate the man who wrote so many songs and made so many people happy... but i get it its a time passer when you are bored and got nothing else to do to start a conversation about how bad john lennon was. its an easy thing to talk about because you dont really and i mean "really" think.

Such a shame. A flawed, tortured soul who gave so much to the world. Probably the most relaxed, honest interview I've ever seen with John. Not acerbic, or being a smart ass, respecting his past band mates and other musicians. Just why? Cried when I heard the news when I was young. Magic captured by 4 young lads, synergy never to be replicated again.
