It’s the thermal bypass on them transmissions ain’t supposed to run 220 all day heat kills the fluid and the torque converters blow apart internally

The transmission went out on my truck. (Reverse and park don't work, and it makes a sort of whirring noise as i drive forward). In auto class we took the fill plug off the transfer case and flyid came pouring out. I never topped it off and one day after driving up a hill i heard the noise i hear now

Sounds like the seal between the t-case and transmission failed. Which left the transmission 2 quarts low of fluid.
