@@JerseyHornet are you sure they are bass and not thin lipped mullet? Plenty of them about that will chase too. Maybe downsize on the lure you are using too may work. Orrrr use a different lure altogether

I’m unsure how far out I actually go to be honest. Easily a mile when you look at jersey in the background I would say. Takes 30 mins to paddle in and that’s with the tide

I use these in Norway and they're great for Pollock. You also need to get Westin 360. Fantastic lures.

Love the videos, would be great if you could do one on the easy to get to bays in jersey, im new to lure fishing and dont have much time to go due to having 2 kids under 3, so when i do its only for 30-60 mins and all the places i get recommended are down a cliff which eats into my time i get so i try fishing some spots up north close to parking like bon nuit and walk along the rocks but i dont get much luck trying loads of different lures, different times of the tide and times of day😢 only thing i get consistently is mackerel but would love to start landing the odd bass

once all the paint chips start in your seeker, take all the paint of and your left with a nice shiney alloy seeker, i paint a black stripe on its back and its landed me more seatrout pollock and mackerel than the original lure lol!!

@@BeneathTheWavesFishingJersey i mainly seatrout fish mate but this season ive been doing custom mod jobs on lures and its surprising the success ive had, simple 2 tone contrasts like silver/black or silver/blue are the go too colours for me but pink in the winter is lethal for the seatrout, have a go at it mate its a lot of fun and its as close to a lure angler can get to tyin his own flies!! 👍🎣

@@BeneathTheWavesFishingJersey They must be some in our seas, temp is perfect, plenty of seals, dolphins and reports of massive tuna off Cornwall and Ireland. You would be safe in the surf, not so much a mile out in that kayak.

What’s the difference between metal and feathers?

So a metal is a jig as you can see on the video. Comes in many sizes colours and weights. Some have a different action too. Where as a set of feathers is usually one line around 4ft long with 3 to 5 individual feathers on the line with a hook on each. You cast them out and retrieve them and they act like a school of small fish. That the predatory fish eat. Hope this helps.
