Tried a couple of these. With really tight tyres you just can't locate the lever under the bead, even when you can, no amount of force will get it moving. The crank brothers design is even worse, because it flexes at the tip. No substitute for metal levers, but watch your expensive rims 😮
@BicycleRestorationMan5 күн бұрын
Yes, be careful with the rims and that you don’t pinch the tube. 👍👊

Assistance please: Anyone have experience with a White Industries version of this type of BB? The BB I'm dealing with also has a small port on each flat. I believe that you are supposed to rotate the crank to line up a few 2mm hex head screws by 1/2 rotation (enabling the removal of the square taper shaft). Bicycle Man....ever run into this particular BB?? On an older(late 1990's - early 2000's) KHS Aero Turbo. Thanks all in advance!
@BicycleRestorationManАй бұрын
I have not seen that type of bottom bracket. Sounds unusual that you would have to leave the crankset on, rotate it, before loosening the two screws. Can you attach a picture that shows us what your describing? 👊👍

Had to go to 3 different beauty supply stores with the frame to match the paint with a nail polish. Nail polish dries hard and comes in an unbelievable amount of colors. You can also go to an Automotive paint shop but its expensive. I have done that when I needed to repaint the whole bike. They even put it in a spray can.👍👊

You have to be careful if you use this method since the spokes should be dbl butted. It might damage carbon or bladed spokes. I’ve never had a problem but issues could come up.

One of the reasons I took my toe straps off was because the design of today's athletic shoes are much wider than they used to be. The straps were just too short for my fat foot. Just lately, I bought some fabric straps and they are much longer and work much better.
@BicycleRestorationManАй бұрын
Yes, I noticed the same thing. My foot is not long but it is wide. If I ride with the straps, I have them as loose as as possible. Thanks for the comment! 👍👊

Bat basically keeps happening with my Stingray orange county ChopperBicycle With the rear wheel I don't know how to fix it Didn't really help I hope you could make a video on that because I tried searching the web and here there's nowhere I can find it To get it fixed If you could make a video on that be great
@BicycleRestorationManАй бұрын
If this keeps happening with your stingray, make sure you check the rim carefully. Look for any small dents in the rim. Mark it to see if it’s happening on the same spot. Check that area extra carefully for any flaws or damage.

I'm having trouble feeding the cable through the shifter itself since there is a tight bend. The cable goes in just a few mm and then stops. Did you have any trouble with that?
@BicycleRestorationManАй бұрын
Yes, did you watch starting at about 2:20 into the video? This is where I had the problem. At that point into the video I show you how I got it through. That’s the only area I had a problem. It threaded through just fine after that.
@ravraidАй бұрын
@@BicycleRestorationMan Yes, but that is after the cable has gone through the shifter and it now needs to go into the housing. My problem was getting it through the bend inside the shifter. Mind you, mine is a different SRAM shifter. I finally got it by filing down the burrs on the cable-end, adding grease, and a making a pre-bend. Thanks for the video - I do appreciate the work.
@BicycleRestorationManАй бұрын
@@ravraid got it, thanks for the info. Those housing ends can be a problem sometimes. Check out my other video on how to cut cables housing without mashing them. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y9Z5kqycz7DFmWw.htmlsi=so1HdmBNjw6ejBmF

Your video answered my question on whether to run the cables on the inside or outside of the handlebars. I recently got my bike back from the shop and noticed that they ran them on the inside instead of the outside due to the line hitting the brake much better. Thanks for the tips.

doesn’t it tighten when turned towards the front then it’s loosens up when you do it to the back

On Japanese bicycles, the threads on the right side of the bottom bracket are left handed threads. So, they tighten towards the left.
