Thank you! Central Istria is a great combination of delicious food and peaceful hilltop towns. :)

Really enjoyed watching this video - very calm and nice surroundings. Great explanations and awesome to learn more about Istria. Seeing the homemade ravioli made us think of this pasta dish, fuzi with veal sauce, we had at an Istrian restaurant near us.
@themintstory97765 жыл бұрын
Thank you, we wanted to show that peaceful atmosphere in the video, I'm glad we succeeded. Where did you visit that Istrian restaurant and how did you like the fuzi? It's one of the typical Istrian pastas!
@FoodandFootprints5 жыл бұрын
The Mint Story We visited it in Astoria Queens, an area near us in NYC. It was a hidden restaurant in the basement of an Istrian football club. We loved the fuzi! Very fresh and tasty

Wow why leave home when you have all this right at home. I love authentic places like this, a lack of tourists gives it a nice feel.

Central Istria is one of the rare regions of Croatia that develops its tourism in the right direction... quality food, wine, accommodation, cycling trails and small towns that are slowly coming back to life. No mass tourism here, fingers crossed there never will be!
@travelpockets5 жыл бұрын
I love places that are quiet like this and away from the tourists. The food looks amazing too... never had homemade ravioli and I would love to try that.
@themintstory97765 жыл бұрын
Oh, homemade ravioli are the most delicious thing! If you ever visit Istria, I'm taking you to try some, with truffles preferably :)

Haha, that island looks awesome! I had no idea this place existed! That little beach looks beautiful too. Going by boat seems to be a good way to get around. Would you recommend that? Or should we take the bus?
@themintstory97765 жыл бұрын
Hi Sally and Ed! I wrote about transportation in the details under the video, I've put some links there as well. We got to the island from Uno port on the mainland by ferry, and then rented bikes for getting around. You can also take a bus, but cycling around the island was so much fun!
@SallyAndEd5 жыл бұрын
Oh cool, thank you. I thought so. Cycling seems like it would be the best way to get around. Thanks for sharing the details!

I haven't been to Japan yet, but I really want to go! This is a great day trip to get out of the city and the gardens are beautiful! How long does it take to get to it from Tokyo and how long was your visit? I would love to eat there like you did and those strawberries look amazing!
@themintstory97766 жыл бұрын
I would wholeheartedly recommend visiting Japan, one of the most interesting and beautiful places I've been to! It took us about an hour drive with a bus from Tokyo. Since the distillery wasn't operating yet when we visited, the owners had some time to show us around and invite us for lunch (that was so kind of them!), so the whole trip lasted for half a day (including a historic train drive trough rice fields back to Tokyo).
@HeatherTrimmTravels6 жыл бұрын
That's not a bad commute at all for a day trip! Good to know, I think it's really cool!

What an interesting find! My family lives in Chiba prefecture, so I'd love to visit here the next time I'm in Japan. I plan to go in March 2019 again so hopefully it'll be open by then. Was it hard to get to? I'm guessing it's not by the train station.
@themintstory97766 жыл бұрын
Well the distillery should open by summer 2018, so I think you'll be able to visit in March next year! If you do, please let me know, I am so curious about the future of this amazing place! Regarding getting to Mitosaya, the owners picked us up with a car and we drove for a couple of minutes, so I guess you'd reach it by foot from the train station in about 15 minutes.

Italy is the best for a ski vacation! Beautiful weather and great food! The slopes are better in Austria but that nasty food is a deal breaker for us! ;) Seems like you have a great ski technique! Nice video!
@themintstory97766 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I completely forgot to answer- I love skiing in both Italy and Austria (also, Austria still has Germknodel and Kaiserschmarrn ;)), but the last few years we found the condition of the slopes better in Italy. Thanks for your kind comment about my technique and the video!

What stunning vistas. We would happily shred some fresh powder on that mountain. Two of the Friends live in British Columbia which is heaven for ski freaks, but this certainly competes. You had some amazing weather and that village looks so quintessentially Italian. We would love to see more of it! Thanks for sharing. Keep travel vlogging. Adventure is better shared with friends!
