I have one of those from Walmart. It not bad. I have caught one bass on it. Lowkey the hooks were tough to take out the bass lips tho.

Yeah I really like this topwater. The treble hooks can be tricky at times if both get hooked but overall not too bad.

Those spearpoint hooks are excellent, they have excellent hook up ratio and fish retention from my experience. I don’t think i have missed a single fish on one yet

Granted i don’t texas rig much anymore because i am in my big swimbait/jerkbait fishing phase, but still like them quite a lot. Last time I used them, my buddy and we both caught 2. He was using normal offsets and had way more hits but lost like 2 or 3 of them and both of my bites didn’t get away

Great video. I just did this yesterday before i found this video. This is an easy solution. I found similar at Menards for about $8 but are only 46" max length. Then you can extend them with flex-drain 4" diameter 8' max drain pipe over in plumbing. $6 ea.

Yes, it is a cheap and easy quick fix, but it's not the ideal solution for long term. Cons are that it's in the way of lawn maintenance and will need to be replaced after some years. Best solution is to bury corrugated drainage pipe and run it 15' to 25' from house and use a good sediment trap plus popup emitter. But the best solution is also more labor and expense. Personally I have gotten very tired of always moving these downspout extenders every time I mow the lawn and I've got 7 downspouts to manage. Finally I have started the process of burying a proper drainage system.

If you are going to bury, you need dual wall corrugated that is smooth on the inside, or solid pipe such as PVC. The inner ripples in the corrugated hold water, trap sediment (such as roofing gravel) and mud.
