Tony Benn was an upper class fool. He was the sort of self-hating fool that the english nobility has produced regularly for 200 years. Claiming that the UN has jurisdiction over world affairs was then (and even more so now) an attempt to hand power to the combined forces that hate the west. The UN is a collection of extremists and power mad thugs who live high on the hog on US taxpayers cash. Benn was sneered at by real working class Brits who saw right through this woke, ultra left, upper class, wealthy clown.

West only attacked Afghanistan when the Taliban ceased poppy production. They had to have an excuse to go in and get it growing again as 70% of the Worlds crop is grown there. How else would they justify going in? Blow up and old building, blame it on someone they wanted dead anyway and get public support....so part of what he says is correct.

5k people died at 9/11. Somebody had to do something to stop more killings in the west. What would you have done? Nothing and let the bombings and attacks to continue or stand up to terrorists? It's tough at the top and somebody has to do something. I've met Tony twice, once as he was leaving his house in Holland Park by accident after meeting him at a Labour conference. His views were noble that peace would find a way. Sadly, I think his words were fine but in this case I doubt peace would have found a way. 5k of people went to work and 5k didn't come home and sometimes the small picture is what's acted upon......

Well, in terms of they funded and trained bin laden, if my instructor funds and trains me to become an expert combatant to fight my enemies, is it his fault I then turn it back on him? And the taliban was (and is) an extremely repressive, prehistoric and barbaric regime. Dont get so idealistic, you cant see the wood for the trees.

Benn was wrong on this. The USA supported the mujaheddin as a group, they did not target support for Bin Laden. Bin Ladin hated the fact that American support helped them achieve victory; he thought that Islam should not need help and opposed American support. The fact that Afghan victory was gained using American support made him very bitter, and was the foundation of his hostility to America. Insane isn’t it,that helping the mujaheddin caused one of them to react violently against the USA. Don’t expect logic when dealing with extremism….

The US attacked Afghanistan after 9/11 when Bin Laden was living in Pakistan. Also - 19 of the 20 9/11 terrorists were Saudi Arabian.

9/11 was created to send the USA and the UK into an unlawful war. The Americans had in their constitution that they would never go into war, unless in the event, of another Pearl Harbour. In order to get people who after 50 years of peace to go to war, you need to create fear, and for the country to feel threatened, that's how 9/11 was created. If the American government can assassinate JFK and sell the American people Oswald, and they accept it, anything is possible. News reports went out saying the second tower was down, but the screen behind the presenter, which was live footage, clearly showing the second tower still standing. The American government created that war, and the deaths of all the innocent civilians. After JFK'S Assassination, the American government haven't released the truth, some 70 years later, because their waiting for all personnel involved to have passed away. People seem to think that the President is the most powerful person, but he's just the puppet, without any real power. The puppeteers remain faceless, and tell the president he hasn't got clearance to certain information. Were all led to believe, we live in a democracy, which isnt true. It don't matter who you the people vote for, because the puppet masters are always in control.

Oh well, millions from the region have all jumped on the band wagon to seek a new life in the west. Meanwhile...Afghanistan resources are being managed by the Chinese. No matter if there is a war or not, everyone heads to the Woke West, where they then assert their rights.

This is what has come to bite the west in the ass. The west was pro invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Now the world looks at Ukraine and thinks "but how is this different to western invasion of the Middle East?". Especially key unaligned countries like India and China who hold alot of power on the world stage. To them it looks like hypocrisy.

Difference is, one was an officials decision the other was a deliberate act to cheat the other team. No one has ever suggested Geoff Hurst cheated. Maradona, as good as he was, was a dirty cheat.

I'm English. Hated the cheat goal. But still believe Maradona was (by far) the greatest ever player. In any case his other goal in that match was worth two. So I'm ok with it. By the way, I think if I was Scottish I'd be applauding the hand of God goal too. It's only sport. It's meant to entertain.

I remember watching and listening to Tony Benn speak at the Durham miner's gala. I'm not a left winger in particular. But you have to give a massive amount of respect to the man. A thoroughly decent, straight forward and fiendishly intelligent and articulate man. People of quality like this are absolutely absent from politics today, to the great detriment of the country and society.

Really and what did he actually achieve for 'the people' nothing Well he did achieve one thing he bundled the Concorde aircraft project which he was incharge of and what was suppose to be a triumph of British technology( which it was) and British export - which it failed at- cost the tax payer billions of pounds which they never got back as the budgest over run so much every one cancelled their orders The only customer was British Airways who paid precisley £1 per airc craft So the working class Briitish taxpayer funded the wealthy to fly over the Atlantic for 20 years Well done Benn

It's so typical of Brits to not want to deal with these problems. They will always find a reason not to. Until it becomes too late. Just look at the state of the UK now. But don't say anything about the changes that are happening, otherwise you'll be called 'far right'

He was the voice of truth . Let’s be totally honest. Since 1945 , United States foreign policy has been abysmal. Vietnam, Laos , Cambodia , South America, Central America, Africa, Middle East . The list is endless. 911 was allowed to happen. It’s been the catalyst for War mongers for the next 50 years. Anyone with a quarter of a brain can see it . US the Worlds Police 😂🇮🇪
