I live by the beach in NYC my apartment is in the 12 floor and I get a lot of dragonflies in my terrace they love my little garden. 😍🪴💞💕

I am enraptured by your garden. I agree, there is no other place like the jungles of New Guinea running barefoot through the spongy coffee undergrowth with birds of paradise. I have dragon flies. Mine are light and dark blue. I have a small frog pond. The frogs eat my slugs and bugs.

In my local nursery in Durban s Africa they had a stag horn..don't know the type it was growing on a rotting trunk cut from a felled tree it was 4 foot circumference its leaves were 3 to 4 foot long. It's was massive. I just stood looking at it for 1/2 HR. I was in awe. None of these come close size wise.

This so impractical. I have huge one in a pot, pot on type every 10 years. It is 40 now. Water when dry, mist it and it gets light from a west window further into the room.

I love the jungle vibes of these gardens in SEA. Unfortunately it's nearly impossible for us to mimic it here in NYC. Since SEA is already HOT and HUMID... How is the bugs (mainly mosquitoes) situation with having these lovely gardens in SEA? I've noticed lots of the home owners have ponds and very damp areas on their property... Wouldn't that be a breeding ground for mosquitoes?
