Why have your family fork over a lot of money for a casket when you can build a simple wooden box for a lot less? My family followed our mom's wishes to be buried in a simple wood box, saved a ton of money on funeral costs. She started a trend in my family older relatives who followed suit. Our mother's casket was a simple plywood box. When our relatives secured the lid with simple nails and hammers at the burial ceremony was the finality. Then her casket was lifted and carried by wood poles to the hearse and then to her site.

Yep, it really makes sense. No need to spend thousands of dollars on something buried and never seen again

Good video, thank you. I need to do this with my deck which looks quite a bit like yours when you started working on it. However, the previous owners of my home covered the deck board with blue paint which is peeling off. I don't know if they stained it or weather-proofed it in anyway. Is it a mistake paint the wood after it is sanded and stained? Does that undermine or compromise the protection of the deck boards?

So essentially if you wanted to run another light bulb socket you would run another electrical line to the extra screws on the socket to the next fixture. I’m going to try this on my garage but I want 12 sockets.
@howtofixitworkshop24 күн бұрын
That's the basic idea. If you're looking for a lot of garage lighting the led shop light fixtures usually daisy chain to each other, so you can plug in one or two and connect more fixtures together by plugging them into each other

We followed the tutorial but our planters keep tipping over with the weight of being pulled by the lights! Tips to fix this??
@howtofixitworkshop25 күн бұрын
That's very surprising, your string lights must be pretty heavy! How much concrete and rock did you have in each barrel? Mine have never tipped over or even moved from their original location
@ohmygollymissmollie25 күн бұрын
One bag of concrete per container. We’re at a loss now on the next step . Our lights just came from amazon

Did the concrete leak out of the planter while wet? Should i get a liner of sorts?
@howtofixitworkshop29 күн бұрын
I don't think mine had any holes for it to leak out from but if yours does you could use cardboard or something readily available. The concrete cures pretty quickly

I’m looking to do the same with the same resin planter. I’ve read from others that these sometimes tip over. Have you ever had issues with them tipping? Mine will be on a ground level deck and certainly don’t want them tipping over. Thanks for the video!

Mine haven't tipped over at all, still standing strong through dozens of storms and high gusts of wind over the last few years

Good job on a rough looking deck. When it gets to this point in deterioration, I would think that paint would have done a better job of covering the imperfections. The same process is involved, but the finished product would look newer.
