I'm in Jacksonville and my rent went up for the last 3 years. $2400 to $2660 to $2860 for 2024. It is insane. I'm disabled Afghanistan war vet and my sister is totally disabled. My husband passed away 4 yrs ago. . So not like I can physically move. So I'm stuck with whatever rent they charge me. I tried to get a 2yr or 4yr lease.. nope, they only give me 1 yr lease. You know that those buildings that's the government fault they're supposed to be inspecting them they had one condo collapse and give me a break they just wanna take that land. The people in Florida are retirees. They’re not even working and you’re already taking all their money that they planned on living on. In Florida that don’t make any difference, they charge the same for insurance anywhere you live. Talk about bigger hurricanes they’re not they just change the level of wind makes hurricane. six years with no damage from hurricane whatsoever flooding I’ve been live right there at higher risk but they built they paid way more for their land. Sounds like the mobile home parks in Florida. They do whatever they want. They raise the rent whenever they want you on your mobile home but they on the land and there’s no restrictions. Honestly I really don't know what to do I was looking at Florida to possibly move then we are hearing how the housing market in Florida is terrible.
