I would have played the shuttle to the far left (yes his right forehand side) because he is anticipating the return to the backhand. Long crosses travel longer but his weight was already on his left foot so he would've never caught that far left return. I also serve high every 3-4 serves depending on how the opponent handles them, my snake technique is off the charts so you'll never see it coming until its too late. and yes, I have 20 years of experience

Great depiction i have watched hundreds of videos but nobody made it clear the importance of elbow as much as you did especially defense i never used elbow instead i have been using only wrist to return the shuttle now i understood what I'm missing thank you so much

1. Split step with very low ground clearance 2. the non racket foot generate the power for the front lunge 3. Land with racket foot (heel first), the non racket foot just go to the follow through
