I'm glad to see discussions like this occur. But it's unfortunate that, even 8 years later, this video barely reached an audience. Or at least only 14 people bothered to hit the 'like' icon. The problem Burnett warns about is still a problem, and I'm not sure there is any greater clarity about it at this point. Technological innovation is being driven by corporate profits with hundreds of companies entering the market. We are getting better at designing systems and procols that have powerful impact. But we don't entirely know what we are doing. A precautionary principle is being thrown aside. We'd be wiser to be wary with manipulating the body and, instead, take our cue from nature. Yes, certain frequencies have effects, but intensifying them out of balance with other frequences could have long-term harm. Scott Zimmerman, of the NIRA company, pointed out that we have all the knowledge and capacity at present to create lighting that would re-create the ratio of frequences as seen in sunlight and as it changes over daytime, according to geolocation. Yet there is not a single product on the market that even attempts to do this. As a compromise, I've settled with full spectrum lighting combined with getting as much natural sunlight exposure as possible. I am drawn to the various red, near infrared, and similar light devices. There is no doubt that they are highly effective. But we also have research that there are side effects such as potential negative changes in the skin microbiome. This is the potential problem of isolating frequences, in a way the body never happened in evolution.

A very interesting concept for future living. I like the idea of sharing spaces as a community for example, living in harmony with nature and leaving less footprint on this earth. I hope this gets much attention and becomes reality.

1:18:35 Asking about the software is sort of an architectural taboo because it implies that the software is doing a lot of heavy-lifting while also being an uncreative way to understand an architectural process. There is merit in asking the question but you won't get a satisfying answer unless the software is integral to the firm's process.

What I think is really funny is that when John Bortle created the Bortle scale most rural places actually were Bortle 3, so he called Bortle 3 the "rural sky", but nowadays a lot of rural areas look more like "suburban" or even "suburban/urban transition" sky.
