I gotta say it's really annoying the way you pull the radio out of you and start pressing buttons without ever. Mentioning what you're pressing.

When capturing video always hold the camera or cellphone horizontally. Notice your video is a stick video, the left 1/3 and right 1/3 are cut off, viewers are watching the middle stick of the video. Every computer screen, TV screen, movie theater screen, and the like are all orientated horizontally, never vertically. Hope this helps you and others as well.

To those all thinking it’s illegal, FCC requires any FM transmitter over 200 feet to have a license. However this does not exceed the limit and is under meaning this is perfectly legal! I own a FM transmitter and it only goes about 1 foot! And as long as you know what you’re doing you should be good!

So, found your video trying to research good radios for a large family to take on a cruise. Would you happen to have a recommendation for one to get for a bunch of complete novices to 2 way radios?
@OnTheTrailRadio24 күн бұрын
FRS radios are cheap easy to understand radios. If you're looking for more power, GMRS is the way to go. Just make sure the cruise is okay with it(usually are)
@Bootyhunter197115 күн бұрын
If you want radios that will actually work the best, motorola dtr radios are the best. They will give you full ship coverage, but they are kinda pricey. A good cheap alternative that will give you decent coverage and is small amd descrete is the wln kdc1 or variants of it. Retevis has a variant of it called the RT22. Those will do great on the same deck, and give you maybe 2 or 3 decks coverage vs the DTR full ship coverage. Get at least UHF radios, VHF wont work well at all on board.

I have not heard anyone use a repeater with a phone patch in probably 20 years or more. I had no idea that they actually still existed and I have been an amateur radio operator since March 1994?

Old school ham radio is dead. 8 in 10 people have a baofeng today, but no one is getting a license, that is slowly dying.

The repeater owner has to gave autopatch. In one local county only one repeater gas autopatch and it is only still around as a backup for the emergency operations center in the event cell service is down.

These are nothing new, this was the Bluetooth before Bluetooth, when I was a kid I had a fm transmitter that plugged into my PSP so you could listen to your games,movies, music on a legit sound system without the use of an aux cable. Aux cables weren't common back then unless you had an after market radio. Also the directions for all these fm transmitters specifically say to use a frequency that is not used by any local stations. These don't have amazing range either and aren't powerful enough to completely over power an actual radio station so if you didn't follow the instructions and did use it on a frequency that's being used already you would just get a bunch of mixed sounds from it trying to play both signals simultaneously.
@IvanskiYakinovskiАй бұрын
It’s not VHF and he’s not interfering with any actual station productions so he’s probably fine.
@princeroyal195Ай бұрын
I also had one for my PSP and I would intentionally try to have other cars listening to the radio to hear whatever I was playing hahahaha those were the days

For some reason I find NXDN less iritating than DMR / P25, dunno why. FM analog is the way. The anytone is not the greatest in either FM or DMR but it's certainly good enough. Change those cursed knobs :p

If I had a GMRS repeater, I'd definitely have an autopatch for 911 calls. I wonder if DMR has digital autopatch.
@_snaiio5492Ай бұрын
sure can, repeater just needs to support it... which is unlikely coz it breaks the DMR contact ID system. Any DMR autopatch should rely on DTMF and then patch through to a physical cellphone or likely a voip line - which i guess is digital in that case, you just need the analog DTMF signalling to connect it!
