It wont matter for modern since that stuff is printed to oblivion anyway, as for vintage, I doubt it will occur massively since the sealed product is usually worth more than the "hit" within.

Scanning through japanese vintage has been possible with very simple gear for years, this whole overreacting of the hobby is kind of ridiculous

Great take like always. One thing I would keep in mind is people will sell their scanned packs once they see the hit is not worth it. Let’s say they have 5 heavy EX Dragon Frontiers packs, gonna cost $65 each to scan. If they don’t like what you get in the scan, then sell it for let’s say $500. It cost you $65 vs $500 if you open it. Obviously you’re not scanning every pack, only the heavies. I can definitely see people cracking vintage boxes, getting the heavies out and scanning them.

the ppl getting wet thinking CT scanning will crash the vintage sealed market must not actually collect vintage sealed because they really dont understand it but theyll likely soon learn: 1) most ppl who collect vintage sealed dont buy it to rip it. We COLLECT SEALED, that's the item, not the cards inside 2) most ppl who collect vintage sealed already assumed for years that it's searchable and that already weighs into our buying practices. that's why box fresh premiums have been commonplace for years 3) it's modern that will get slammed by it in time, because its modern that ppl buy primarily to rip, and retailers in Japan who cycle through tens of thousands of boxes in their shops/warehouses will happily invest the needed money to pillage their stock for chase hits. theyve already shown us theyndo anything to maximize profits there are no morals involved and they arent hobbyists the way the ppl who hold vintage sealed product are almost exclusively hobbyist. so yea, someone send me an alert when the vintage sealed market crashes so i can go absolutely wild adding to my collection 😂

from 2004 to 2010, 14 billion cards were printed. In 2023 alone, 52.9 billion cards were printed. Despite Pokémon being well established as a prominent and worldwide scale juggernaut, it's tough to see how today's modern can become tomorrow's vintage. With more and more pokemon investors around, this means more sealed product around as well. With all speculative assets, there are good times and there are bad times. I feel like we're still in the good times right now, but I don't know if it can last forever. When the bad times come, can the prices sustain with the amount of supply out there? Time will tell. I'm personally buying the stuff I like, which is mostly vintage sealed and higher end vintage umbreon cards.

Pokene put out a video that said that pokebeach said there will be a set called battle partners that will be released on January 24th featuring the return of Owners pokemon, like gym sets like sabrinas alakazam, blaines moltres blahblah. And there will also be something called the collection file lilie and collection file N released alongside it, so theres a chance lilie and N will be in that set! There will also be steven and marnie decks, containing 2 pokemon + trainer in one card, so tag teams are back? And hopefully, they will reintroduce megas with these tag team? Im getting excited for 2025 sv sets

Im going to pick up a box of clay burst if it hits retail. I bought 20 packs when clay burst released, and pulled the iono sr, not the sar, but it graded a 10. Really should have sold it when it was around 200 dollars, I could have bought multiple boxes with that money

ive seen 2 different seals for clay burst. one where the seal line is on the side of the rip tag and one on the side without the rip tag. Is it just different print runs?

picked up 151 despite your warnings

Love these kind of regular update videos. Lately I’ve spec’d hard into 151 and Lost Abyss. Hoping to ride the soon to be wave of price hikes. On the singles side, I’m scooping cheap mid era Japanese where I can.

I picked up 10 lost abyss, a case of 151 and 10 paradigm trigger. Gonna pick up some clay burst once it reprints.

I only picked up Lost Abyss Boxes. I really think they running right now under radar, because whole KZfaq is talking only about Pokémon 151. Compared to the other sets which had currently a reprint the upply barely increased and the market swallowed up the reprint very quickly. In the future I see a greate performance for this set, if it was the last print run. 👌

Smart choices I think aside from one, you need more 151! We all do lol As of right now I'm at around 25 of that thing and I'll keep buying 2 boxes a week until they reach 12000yen or so then I'll stop, if they go down again like you said I think I'll aim to get 50 total, I'm convinced that set will do REALLY good no matter how much they print. Other than that pretty damn similar to your pickups aside from a few Shiny Treasures and a few Incandecent Arcana which I really like for some reason, reminds me of Dream League which is the set that brought me into this mess :P

I'm as always sticking with the Japanese special sets so I got a fresh case of shiny treasure ex, 15 boxes for me and 5 for a friend who's starting taking an interest in it
