It takes courage to make such a bold decision, Warren. Looking forward to following your progress. Best of luck!

Better to regret the things you've done rather than regret the things you haven't , we all need to get out of our comfort zone sometimes, Best of luck .

Warren, could you do a video, on exercise to show how to stop hitting irons 4/6 inches behind the ball. I was given a tip to use right elbow going past ball. Hasn’t really worked. Tried putting ball further back , getting hands well ahead and other ideas, nothing has worked. I have used Acue mat, that shows I consistently hit ground normally as stated, very rarely less than 2 inches behind ball. I also feel that I should be hitting straighter and further than I do, don’t think it’s because of age. Assistance would be much appreciated

Excellent session, very helpful. I think you have a secret admirer in Scottie Scheffler because he named his newborn son Bennett. 😀

Warren being relatively new to you channel I’m been catching up. I’ve been using many of you drills show, or variations of, however the “lasso” drill looks interesting I’ll give that a go. I also agree with your comment it takes” hundred and thousands of reps” to get it right! Having a indoor hitting station in my basement allows me to practice almost daily even if only 30 or so minutes a day. The sessions focus on specific moves with exercises that reinforce.

Mahalo from Hawaii 😎🤙🏾…my favorite drill to get me back in sync, can tell by the sound of the pure solid ball contact.

That's too much contortion for a 71 year-old like me. Not that athletic any longer. I simply tell myself to hit the ball with my hands and not the club head so that my hands reach the ball first. I don't even think about my body as it just naturally follows the momentum of the swing. And, I try to keep my right shoulder to a limited involvement by keeping my back to the target as long as possible. Keeps me from coming over the top. Like you, if I let my lower body get ahead of the hands, the club is late and I hit a push. Love your channel but most people my age cannot do what you're suggesting here.

6:59 is awesome. I had the yips swinging this year as I watched the "elite golfer strike" video I could get it back but to drop was easy but had to pause before swinging through You'd be surprised how much speed you get swinging from parallel through the ball on some sort of radar technology. its eye opening Still have a lot of work to do but when I was a slicer lost a lot of speed and momentum from the spinning out move. I know you know what I am talking about. man oh man this is a good video Thanks Again

Another awesome video! Funny you put this video up because this is what ive been working on lately. Played this morning and on 14 I waited for it and man oh man what a strike! felt like arms could "extend" and hands went to right. hit a beauty draw for me long and left but still playable. Love the videos. they make you think. Avg scoring dropped 1.8 strokes compared to last year and a high single digit (thanks to your videos understanding what I need to do) Good luck with the comeback series. You can do it. I know you can Thx. Dan & Angus

I appreciate your multiple example swings during the video and not just one swing at the very end like so many other instructors. I can feel that you really care about your viewers. Thank you Warren! Btw fantastic July series. You’re my favorite KZfaq golfer.

Mr. Bennett, thank you for adding context to the phrase"drop it in the slot". So many instructors, especially on youtube, refer to the phrase without really identifying its location. Thus it becomes this mystical location one is ever searching for. Pravo Sir.

Leaving the back to the target is great for all clubs I have found. It stops me coming over the top. I try to tell myself I'm not trying to hit the ball, I'm trying to execute a swing.

Great video Warren. Does “wait for it” and “drop it into the slot” also apply for pitching?
@edwarddougherty2213 күн бұрын
Warren thank you for taking time to present the instruction. On my part when working on this sequence I’ve added the pause at top and using the “chair drill” behind me to insure I have full rotation of my hips. As you had pointed out without enough hand depth there is no slot to drop into!
@tobybarker68083 күн бұрын
where should hips be when the club comes back to parallel to the ground?

Good to see you again. Thanks for making the playlist for the July videos. I reviewed the 1st video regarding the "transition" of the swing this morning. Today's video on "Waiting for It" seems to me similar to the 1st video. Could you elaborate on the "difference", if any, between these two? Thanks.
@petethomas71643 күн бұрын
Great advice again Warren. Gravity is your friend and with light grip pressure the feelings and ultimately the moves in the swing become more easily discernable and therefore, repeatable. All very best for next few months and your "new" mission. Remember it's the journey, not the destination, that matters most on some occasions! Maybe you could say it's not a results based exercise! Wishing you every success in any event.
