I'm having real trouble getting stems to play in time with one another... Any help would be greatly appreciated! My guess is that they all need to be the same tempo which is annoying.
@KennyZhaoАй бұрын
@@KeithDuncanSound For sure! Yes, be sure the tempo of each stem is set correctly within the Octatrack’s audio editor page (should be 2nd to last tab in the audio editor). The octatrack will snap each file’s tempo to the master tempo of the sequencer. Alternatively, you can turn off timestretch on every track, and as long as they start synced up they should stay that way. But this can risk causing them to fall out of sync with the sequencer. Sometimes I do this to prevent my tracks from changing speed when I switch tempos - typically when I design the sequencer to be out of sync with the stems.

Ok I need some advice I slave all my Elektrons via my erm multi clock so my Octatracks midi input is used up so I don’t know how to connect the pc4 to control the octatrack im syncing via Ableton with the mulitclocks vst which is a audio signal I’m not sure if I can put the pc4 in between the output from the multi going via the pc4 in and out any advice would be great

Hello Kenny! Thanks for you video. I've noticed interesting thing. Wanna to send LONG notes or chords from octatrack mk2by midi track to any other Elektron. For example Digitone. While Octatrack sends these long notes, DIGITONE have parameter locks with lot of changes in sun parameters (for example) in his own sequencer without note trigs. And DIGITONE doesn't sounds with these changes. Only if I press and hold Digitone any trig, but then midi note from Octatrack untrigger his note. What am I do wrong?
@viavsaragov6 ай бұрын
I made the same from Ableton. If I send notes to any Elektron - parameter locks doesn't work :(

Can someone please tell me what is the best way to send midi from Octatrack to Op1 ? cheers
@KennyZhao7 ай бұрын
Hi! the best way for you to connect those devices would be to acquire some kind of USB MIDI host, which will take USB signals and convert them to MIDI. The OP1 can only send MIDI signal via USB, so a USB MIDI host will take those signals and convert them for you.

Do you know how I slave my Mpc to the octatrack so when I hit the transport it starts the playback of my Mpc I can get it to sync to my sp404 mk2 but the Mpc I don’t know what needs to be turned on as midi out had a sync but on the midi in it has not got sync it has other parameters which i don’t know what it has to be set at kind regard.
@KennyZhao7 ай бұрын
Hi! There should be a setting in your Octatrack MIDI preferences that turns on Transport receive and send with external devices. Under PROJECT > MIDI > SYNC, activate transport send and clock send. You may also need to enable transport receive on your MPC, but I’m unfamiliar with the settings on that device.

Can you have a record trig start the recording and then automatically stop it after it comes back around so it doesn't start recording over again? I tried converting the record trig with function key, among other things, all to no avail. I finally managed to get a perfect quantized recording loop (audio from iPad Gadget) by manually removing the record trig after it started. Just starting to learn this beast of a machine and I'm a bit overwhelmed atm.

Does the OT have quantised cropping, as in, edit a sample to have a length of exactly 4 bars? In my case, I wonder if I can export full length stems, import them into the OT and then chop them into 4 bar loops to put them into patterns? Or must I chop all the stems into short 4 bar loops to then import and put them in their own patterns?

Super cool, Kenny. I think I'm ALMOST intermediate because I understand most of what's going on here, always with a leading edge to work on in my own music. Agreed, the Octa is most definitely it's own instrument. In other news, I've been getting out to as many DJ sets as I can to see what people are doing, inspirationally and to find other hardware-minded folk. Keep up the great work, Kenny!
