I'm using JUKI F600 Quilt Exceed domestic sewing machine but it doesn't really matter what machine you're using as long as you can lower the feed dog and attach a darning foot.

@@nakshipolly5666 Hi! Thanks for asking my opinion and here is my take based on my knowledge and experience. For Brother PQ1500SL, it's a beautiful high speed sewing machine that only do Straight Line stitching, unfortunately it's a discontinued product accdg to Brother USA. I'm thinking there might be some issues so it's off in the market, getting support might be harder if you run into problems. For Juki TL 2000Qi and TL2010, both are high-performance well-built sewing and quilting machines, but ONLY Straight Line stitching but very high quality with wider throat space. I'm not sure though if it comes with a free motion quilting foot or a darning foot but the feed dog can be lowered down. Btw these are mechanical industrial quality high speed sewing machines. For JUKI F600, it's a computer sewing machine that came with hundreds of stitch patterns from buttonholes, quilting (67), decorative (72), embroidery (23) and letters. I love this kind of versatility and in terms of performance it's a workhorse, plus I love the drop in bobbin as I don't need to adjust the tension of a bobbin case, just the upper thread when I'm in trouble. As for free motion quilting, it needs lower speed and this has adjustable speed controller, with darning foot already. It also comes with walking foot if you want straight quilting. In short I would recommend this machine in terms of performance and versatility. I hope this helps.

@@jdreamquiltsThanks for your nice feedback. I understand that you are really very talented in this subject, please give me another suggestion I don't need a sewing machine design. I will sew vine leaf flowers and round designs using free motton. So which sewing machine should be purchased for me at a low price

I'm using a darning foot which came with my sewing machine. It's also called quilting foot or embroidery foot, depending on the machine's brand.

@jdreamquilts 7 ай бұрын
Yes doodling is a very important step before FMQ. I couldn’t do my designs without drawing them first until I feel confident with my movements and shapes. It gives me the roadmap for my goal and it allows me to troubleshoot problems like where is best direction to take. Plus it develops your fine motor skills or muscle memory needed for the actual FMQ process.

Do you mean the darning foot? I simply use the presser foot up and down lever to position the darning foot.

Ive been trying for weeks now but my machine keeps ripping my threat while free motion quilting. I have no idea how to fix it, i tried adjusting the tension, different threads, different needles, and it keeps happening. I cannot go 15cms, it starts normal and then starts skipping stitches and ripping the threaf shortly after
@jdreamquilts
@jdreamquilts 7 ай бұрын
I did have the same problem last April and it did last for like 2 months, it was also very frustrating. I almost gave up and was ready to buy a new machine but I decided to try a new needle 🪡 even if I already changed it many times. And somehow it worked and my machine is doing well after that. Skipped stitches could have many possible causes. It could be lint accumulation under the needle plate, around the bobbin area, dull needle, incompatible thread weight, and so on…I highly recommend cleaning up the bobbin area if you haven’t try it yet, change bobbin and see if there is a difference. Then change your needle many times and see which one works. I hope I’m helpful and let me know how goes. 🥰

@@jdreamquilts i was experimenting with it for two days now, i cleaned out everything, didnt help much, i changed the needle, didnt help much either. I then covered up the feed dogs because theyre quite sharp and that helped some! I also oiled EVERYTHING in the area, and that also helped! Now i still have some tears, LOT less often, but i can confirm its because my thread is apparently really shit xd so i think if i buy some good thread in the colour i need, i will be 100% good, thank you!
