For the winders, often times you (or someone else) can make or 3d print an adapter for a drill. Have seen a lot of handcrank machines for crafts be outfitted for a drill!

It has a panel option, too - so you can make pretty much anything you'd like to with it.

I just crochet my scraps into a blanket as soon as possible. Keeps my space clean and will have a huge blanket soon.

I wrap my yarn/thread over the needle, tightly, then put the fold through the eye of the needle. I never wet the ends, twist them or jump through any hoops. I actually bought these needles a long time ago, but I rarely use them. I stick to regular needles. Even with sewing thread, I rarely use a needle threader. Again, fold the yarn or thread over th needle, tightly. push the fold through the eye.

What's wrong with working the ends in as you go? So much easier that way. Never used a needle to work my ends in. And believe me I'm picky about the ends
@hookandpaperАй бұрын
I do work over the ends but there are a lot of joining ends on this one that need to be actually tied and weaved in.- this blanket will be in my studio so it will be rolled over with my office chair, stepped on when it falls on the floor etc and i've invested too much work to gamble on the ends on it. <3

If you haven't gotten the larger yarn winder, its useful to consider whether noise will be an issue. The large winders that have metal gears, although durable, make quite a bit of noise. I made the mistake of getting that one whilst still living in an apartment. I'd recommend looking into the large winders with plastic/Nylon gears which I heard are much quieter, though I do not know if they are durable long-term (they should be if your winder is well-aligned, Nylon is quite strong).
@hookandpaperАй бұрын
This is absolutely great advice and something I never once considered. While I don't live in an apartment, I do like to go into my studio at all hours - including when my husband is on business calls and when he is sleeping. Thank you for this information!

I would love one of those carts but with cats it’s a no. The cat hair and they would want to be in it. I use small plastic totes. I like your idea of the hair clips on the yarn balls, I use Bobby pins because I didn’t think of those lol. My son got me one of those yarn winders for Christmas a few years ago 😻 I love it 😊 Happy crocheting 🧶 ❤
