Yes it is wonderful throughout the year and particularly special at the height of summer. Also no queues and crowds like the beaches and cities.

I was in montgenever last year and found the conditions much easier, i think you need to get a piste map.

What is the condtions like currently. Coming to the area in 15 days but heard sauze is not great. Would you recommend the montegenvre conditions?

Yes the conditions are much better in Montgenevre than Sauze, this is not unusual. South facing sides everywhere have little or no off-piste but the slopes are good if managed well and/or artificial snow. This is the case in Monty, but most skiing is north face and high up.

Hi Odi, it’s pretty good. Wasn’t sure how well it would do, but have been surprised. It is not as long an effective edge as others boards but it was rideable even in form and icy conditions.

I did a school trip here from 26/12/ 1987 into 88 , took forever to get there by coach , thank goodness for the Sony walkman I borrowed , epic journey and time of life , Will one day get back to this magical place .. Nice video thanks 👍

Yes it truly is magical. There are many faster and better ways to get here, trains are one of our favourites nowadays. Night train from Paris straight to Briançon (20mins away).

Worked in Montgenevre in winter ‘97/‘98.....18years old.... wow! A lifetime ago! Worked in Hotel Rafale next to Cadesol Restaurant and the “Blu Nuit” nightclub 😂 Spent many a night in there!! Amazing resort! We used to walk into Claviere, Italy to get a newspaper because Claviere sold “today’s” newspapers but Montgenevre’s papers were 3 days behind!! 🙈🤣 Occasionally the bus drivers who brought the guests would drive us to Briancon just so we could escape for the day. Again, great video and thanks for bringing back some amazing memories!!!!

Great video! I worked in Montgenevre for my first season working abroad back in winter ‘97/‘98. 18years old back then, this brought back some great memories! “Eagles run.....” remember it well.

I lived in Montgenevre Winter 2011-2012. I worked hard in a hotel - Les Rois Mages (Waitressing, Cleaning). Didn't speak a word of Italian or French - which made bar work stressful! Got ripped off by the British Employer (RocketSki) But I love love LOVED the skiing - which improved a lot. The nightlife was pretty terrible in those days - there was one nightclub called Les Chaberton. But it was a family resort.

Yes they were not known for looking after their staff. It is a short sited business strategy. They haven't survived here.

We were there with the Go-Monty crew Christmas 2019 and they made the holiday everything you could hope for. Le Graal was open for business and there was U shaped bar all lit up blue if that's the nightclub.👍
