Soul filling. Hearing Rico's words at 3:46 made me melt "I get to hang out with with amazing human being, so I'm never feeling like I'm missing out. All I'm doing is helping her be awesome"". I also appreciate the perspective of 'investing' vs 'giving up for' someone. The power of words! <3

Thank you for sharing this. What a beautiful family. I'm in the US and have to travel to Switzerland for MAiD bc they only allow terminal illnesses here. I hope our system becomes as enlightened as Canada's track one and track two.

My wife died with dementia in February, I was her sole carer at home and she died at home as she wanted. I am 76 years old and yes it was hard work but I loved her with all my heart right to the end. We had no kids together and her 4 from a previous marriage abandoned her except for tears at the funeral. My son helped a great deal but lives far away. Yes a good question what do I do now? all I have is loneliness and no purpose

After reading an article in the LFP about Moses' own struggles that led him to community of support, I looked up the series he produced featured on You Tube. It was very insightful, because as a white person, I had no idea that Black people were struggling in this way. I'm happy that he was able to travel and meet different Black families with similar struggles and form a community of support. It is a sad reality that minority groups feel and experience this isolation. I believe in equality for all people on this earth, but I do know this isn't always the case. We must continue to open our minds and hearts to accept people for who they are. We have to strive to combat racism . I know it is an ongoing problem, but each of us can build a better community if we have the courage to change the things we can. I'm 77 and my life has been enriched by being married to an Indigenous man, and communicating with others of different races.

Early morning of Oct 27, 2023, I called the ambulance. Her blood pressure was 68/45. 18 hrs later, the verdict came crashing down from nowhere: 1) Chronic-Severe Encephalopathy...Untreatable 2) Stone in her Gall Bladder...They don't understand why there is no pain, or never was any. 3) Her liver is completely destroyed by a cancer that we never suspected was there. The oncologist was strongly against any Chemo. In his opinion, the risk of a horrible death during the first treatement is extreme. Nov 10, 2023, she was transfered to the Palliative Care Unit. Nov 23, she asked for MAID...She was refused because of the Encephalopathy. But, they proposed putting her in a deep sleep (medically induced coma) She aggreed, under one condition. That She falls asleep in my arms, where she feels safe. Their reply was: " In Palliative Care, YOU decide" Nov 25, her heart stopped beating. Januairy 2024, it would have been 18 years as her caregiver. In the 50 years that we have been together, there was NEVER a dull moment. Having her in my life is a privilege she gifted me with.

You may live more than 100 years, or you may die tomorrow. You ARE dying this very moment, - why is the relevance then, of - 'how-long' then, - moments or years, a question so impossible to answer, - that we pretend, imagine, entirely avoid, or even not a clue about this reality ?

Paula you are amazing with Will. I would have never known his true struggles without watching these videos. The connection that I see through the moments you share on social media look effortless. That's the sign of the true genuine love that you both have for each other. I'm so glad your Will's person.
