Hi, I know this is an old video but if you see this, how hard is it to pick your deck out if you happen to fill it with 4 decks + tokens if they fit? Also I'm assuming planechase cards are the same size as the oversized commander decks? Just to be sure those fit in there? And thank you. Been looking for a box that can protect my planechase cards and smarthive isn't an option since the only ones left on the market are pink. Not my color.

The 60+ fits double sleeved cards really well. Both the 60 and 80 seem to be able to hold a few more than the number advertised with double sleeved cards. I prefer the 60+ for my kitchen table decks that don't have a side board and they still have room for tokens. I hope that helps!

When these were in preorder I remember them having pretty good discounts on buying multiples ie. 2-3 come in at like $75 for example or something like that, I see now all those bulk rates are completely removed in addition to the price hike. Perhaps this is to counteract their random coupon code discounts. Even at $100 its a tough ask, hopefully the success for it leads to more innovation and competiton from competing storage companies... It is just a plastic box after all...Not like these things are nice clear acrylic with brass hardware. I've tried finding similar sized acrylic boxes from Target home decor for example but the dimensions are just ever so slightly off. Based on cost it seems totally doable to make them from nicer materials at that price point.

It's been brought to my attention that the BCW 6 Drawer Card Catalog has had it's price raised to $118.99 since I released this video. I was very disappointed to see that. I understand these boxes are very expensive to ship and that is part of their cost, but at essentially $120... Just wanted to make sure you were aware of the price hike.

Yeah I was commenting on another video whos topic was apropo to this ones. I did the math for the comment and you can buy 50k worth of card storage, 10 of BCWs basic 5k card boxes, for the same price as 1 of the Card Catalog. Im also looking for, have been for a while, comic storage. Their plastic bins are 35 bucks each, versus their cloth ones being 15 and betting the cardboard ones being like 3 or 4. Any company that produces plastic storage solutions REALLY need to rethink their pricing. With 3D printing becoming so affordable there is quickly going to become zero reason to pay 10+ dollars for these kinds of things considering if someone designed the files the likely cost of materials to print would be less than 5 bucks.

If they build one, what's the next one up? We tend to forget they are in a business to make money. Not to make us all happy. Like the different deck boxes I have? The best one is still Ultra Pro Tower or Satin Tower. They could not come up of anything new, except making it glitter or made from recycled materials. If only Ultimate Guard quality instead of Ultra Pro. Before CNC machines and 3D printing, I made one from plywood for bolts and screws. As a craftsman, I made my own library card style cabinet with drawers for my MTG cards. BCW made 6 drawers stackable. For the cost, I came out a winner with 24 drawers for less what BCW is asking for.

I got one and I sold it in 2 days. I hate how this deckbox was built. It's bulky, my cards dance inside of the box (I need to buy an extra accessory to solve the problem), and I don't see any advantage compared to other products from the gamegenic line. Also, it's expensive. I don't know what the professor was thinking when created that with the gamegenic, but I much prefer a simple Boulder or squire 100+.

$100 for this is robbery in my opinion. $50 is the absolute most I could see this priced but even then I would be iffy. This shouldn't cost more than like $40 +Tax and shipping. I can go to my local cardshop and buy 12 4 row 3200 count cardboard boxes for $102 plus Tax which would make it about $110 in my area. That's two boxes per row on this thing. It sucks cuz I'm really trying to find something that makes it easier to store a bunch of cards but everything I find is just crazy expensive or it doesn't fit my needs. Guess Imma just have to stick to cardboard for a while.

Unfortunately I think you are forgetting these are made in china and shipped overseas and then shipped to a distributor and then to you, thats a lot of shipping. Thats why large bulky items just have to cost more. There is far more than $50 into making it and all that shipping. WIth that said if you find a distributor, and especially if you want multiple there is probably a chance they could work with you on a discount to get it at least slightly closer to what you are stating. Its just that your numbers aren't really practical for 2024.

@@nickguppy Unfortunately I think you are forgetting that it doesn't matter where it comes from. This is an American company not a Chinese company. If this was an Australian company or something then it'd be a totally different story but it's not. My job as the customer isn't to cover your inefficiency in costs. That's your job as a company. If 80% of your cost is shipping then you need to re-evaluate your model and do it better. I'm not gonna pay $20 for a slice of bread just because it came from Russia. Edit: It's also $99 on their own website that I would have to go pick up myself at their own warehouse. So that means it costs them like $60 per unit to be shipped from China? Cuz the materials and labor for this aren't even that expensive. They really are terrible at cost management then.

@@NsyteIcyShadow - I am very sorry I replied and upset you so badly. I was just trying to state things are much more expensive now than they used to be. You are absolutely correct it doesn't matter that its made in China. My guess is that if they could make it in the US for less they would, so that makes my point irrelivant. I don't agree with your math at the end though, as I know what my cost as a distributor is. But I do not work for BCW or set their distributor costs or MSRP. @@NsyteIcyShadow - Strange timing, we just got an email from BCW a couple hours ago today that prices are changing for 8/1 and this item is one of them, its going up to $118.99 UGH... I don't think I can really defend that price, but as I predicted the said the cost increases (which are on about 90% of their items) are said to be due to the international cargo shipping cost. I'm sorry that I can't post my cost on the internet though, part of the NDA of being a distributor.
