Total football has existed even born I was born. Systematic football is nothing new. Pep revolutionized football, but Pep's systems were never the problem. Systems did not create attackers who have less tech than middle schoolers.

We tried that with Akanji for a few games, it didn't work. What we did in the last games of last season is have Josko step up into the box midfield. At other points in the season we had fullbacks go up as wingers and then let the wingers step into midfield. This caused us to concede a LOT of goals. We have tried many different ways to form a box midfield. The system I'm showing is what Pep used at the end of the season (and that coincidentally also worked the best imo).

I'm not talking about him getting better. I'm talking about him playing top football in 3 or 4 years from now rather than being more washed out than the insides of a stuffed dog.

defensive players like cdms prime later than attackers. it is not unusual for cdms to prime at 30.

Manchester City is currently the richest team in the Premier League. We don't need to make money. We need to spend some of it to bulster our squad. Only Savio and Bruno Guimarães is not enough in my opinion. We need a new right back, a new right winger and a De Bruyne replacement. That's not even considering who could possibly be leaving! Our squad is simply too thin, even for a Pep Guardiola team.

Savio will be the best winger in the premier league upon arrival. They aren't going to loan him out, he is a proper talent.
