I've lived in Leyton for around 20 years. Over the last few years it has become an awful place to live with drug addicts roaming the streets and harrassing people for money. I've seen used needles while walk down the street and just the other day I walked past a man sitting on the pavement injecting drugs. Shoplifting is through the roof, as is street crime in general, but I guess that might be the case now in many areas of London. And now it's quite normally to see people sleeping rough in Leyton even though there were no rough sleepers here until just a few years ago. There's blatant drug dealing on street corners and then there's this bizarre thing that started around 2019: groups of men standing on street corners in the evening with cans of beer, drinking and being a general nuisance. Why? There are bars and pubs on the very same street. Or they could just go home and drink. They do it all year round and then leave all their rubbish on the street for the imaginary Road sweepers to clean up! Imaginary because it's very rare for any street cleaning to take place in Leyton. They just about Collect the bins.

@@happyjack7948 I don’t know Becontree very well, but a few Sundays in a row I went to have an English Breakfast at one of those little shops/family restaurants in Becontree. The people sitting at the other tables were British, proper Essex people, and they were speaking in very “colourful” language, while drunk or high. And I have noticed the same thing when I worked in Newham, I worked with many families coming from many places, but some of the families that brought the greatest behaviour issues were the British families, stay at home families, on benefits, with lots of children who were on the streets way past what should have been their curfew. I am not saying that emigrants don’t cause problems, some of them do, there are some problems with clashes of cultures as well, and with people not integrating properly because they don’t learn the marriage and they don’t respect or understand local culture and traditions. But we have to also recognise that local populations can have their issues as well, with the things you mentioned.

I use Uber no issues so far. I avoid taxis based on recommendations from others. Third day here in Istanbul. Lost my phone in Sultanahmed. Went to the tourism office in the area. Asked them if anyone turned in a phone. Area is full of tourists. They checked and said no we don’t have your phone. 60 seconds later a guy whom I recognized from the police station followed me from the office, and got my attention. He pulled out a phone and it was mine. I was so so happy. It could have a been a disaster. He acted like he was an Arab. I was using google translate to speak with him. He acted like he didn’t understand Turkish. He said buy baklava in broken English. I said how much, he showed me a ridiculous price. He was going to take me to a shop he knows and that shop owner would have told me that price and I think he would have given them back in cash or something. No way 2000 lira of baklava is what he wanted. Anyway I gave him some 30’sh dollars I had in my pocket, told him thank you & walked away. Guy was not wearing police uniform.

Yes, it’s true, Uber works, Inforgot to mention that. But I was used to the way taxis worked in Antalya where there was no need for hassle and negotiations and bad energy. I thought it would be the same in Istanbul. Big mistake. Wow, how lucky that you found your phone. Something like this happened to me in Malaysia in the Perhentian Islands. I took my laundry to some laundry place on the beach, it was literally a stall. The next day I couldn’t find my go pro and I needed it for scuba diving. I went mad with worries searching everywhere. Couldn’t find it, in the end I went to all the places I went the previous day and to the laundry place. He had it there for me. He was such a lovely man, honest and gave it to me immediately. I was very, very touched.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Come to Jesus Christ today Jesus Christ is only way to heaven Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus
