Hello, i bought a new d878uvii plus. What i notice is i can not charge it via usb. When i plug in there is no sign on the screen that it is being charged. Also it is not charging even i left it in charge via usb. But it is being charged with the charger. Is there any setting to turn on usb charging?

Can airband frequencies be saved as channels with the CPS etc.??? Or is airband receive VFO specific?? Also, is this variant of the 578 compatible with AT Options? I need the HAM bands & GMRS, TX for 151 MHZ for work, and airband receive. IS THE ACHIVABLE WITH AT OPTIONS??? And does the radio lose or tradeoff anything with mode switching?? In other words, I don't want to mode switch and lose anything like airband receive or crossband repeat capabilities. I'm hoping those are firmware options regardless of band option. I've scoured the internet and there's no real clarity regarding the "AT-D578UVIII Plus Tri Band" variant specially. I'm trying to replace a Yaesu that does everything I just mentioned. Why UHF to VHF?

If you set the alerts to on but change the channel type to D+A you can still hear the weather when commanded to the weather channel.

I've been waiting for about 9 1/2 months for my tech license to show up in the database, so I can use my radios. Since they don't answer my emails, my vec doesn't seem to know what's going on(I'm gonna test in a different county next time) I was thinking about getting a new frn number and starting over and retaking the test in a different area, but what I was wondering is, since the FCC didn't want to give me a regular call sign, would it maybe be easier to ask for a vanity call sign next time around? I had heard the FCC was kinda hard to navigate, but I never thought it would take this long just to use amateur radio. ..

I have a question regarding my AnyTone D878UV II Plus and all of a sudden it will not recognize my com ports. It's only 2 years old and beyond warranty from Bridgecom and do you know of a company that repairs or diagnosis problems with this radio. It worked fine 2 years ago but I moved to Florida and I am just setting up my unit and found it not working. I called Bridgecom and they said the only thing they would suggest is by a refurbished model. Any suggestions??????

As the DMR codec is proprietary all the open source providers cannot use it and others have to license it! Hopefully an open source equivalent will arise.

I am now clear on a lot of things, particularly the code plug, as this time last week the thought of creating one horrified me ( I thought it would be like programming my old ZX-81). These small reels zoomed way in and bouncing all over and the text in the middle is very distracting and poor presentation. Will not follow another with this format.

I've never be able to communicate with a hamm radio. I bought the Anytone 878 back in 2020 and was unsuccessful then and after about a week of playing with it here recently, I'm about to throw it in the trash. I've watched multiple videos 100 times and apparently it's just not meant to be. I'd think being in San Tan Valley Arizona I would have better success. This is well beyond frustrating!
