Absolutely one of the best things about the live experience for this band is the amount of ad-libs and unique changes they make to each song every time they play it. No 2 rituals are ever the same, because Vessel just has a seemingly endless supply of vocal runs, melodies and inflections he can add to every line to make it different. His performance of Ascensionism at Wembley last year was nothing short of incredible - would highly recommend watching through a couple of live videos and be amazed.

This is art! 😁 Song's name is "Metali" (metari) which is the combination of "metaru" (metal) and "matsuri" (traditional Japanese festival). So it's a "matsuri" influenced song and it's all about hyping the crowd and inviting them to dance and sing along. The MV has a ton of cultural references (also references a previous song and MV: "Megitsune"), and it's amazing. Musically, it's very groovy and funky. I love Su's clean yet aggressive vocals here. Really cool collaboration with Tom Morello who commented this: "I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. Don't worry about the language - I don't speak a word of Japanese but they're my favourite band of all time (and I've been enjoying some truly great bands for several decades). The song title doesn't really translate easily - it is 'Metali' or 'Metari' and it is a made up word fusing Metal and Matsuri (festival). It is another of their fun songs with all the shouts (like wasshoi, dokkoisho, sore etc) that would be called out at Japanese summer festivals encouraging people carrying heavy floats and so on. This is a great live song - and they get the whole crowd jumping and having a good time every time. The song is about a Metal village holding a Metal summer festival. There is something in the lyrics and in Momometal's Kabuki Theatre part about we are all fools - the fools who dance and the fools who watch - and as we're all here and we're all fools we may as well all dance. Just so you know. These ladies have been performing over 10 years. They are seasoned pros. Known for their legendary live performances and crowd interactions. Because they've been performing so long there are kind of three different Babymetal periods. Early days when they were just young teens. Phenomenal but can be a bit WTF to the new western listener.
