These years were peak for the Cowboys as an organization. Murchison Jr.- owner, Schramm - president & GM, Brandt - director of player personel and Landry - head coach. They'd never be better.

We ended up losing to the St Louis Cardinals on that MNF game. I recall watching it. I was only 9 years old then. But Lee Martin hit the nail on the head when he mentioned that it seemed to him that the COWBOYS-CARDINALS rivalry was getting to become more of a rivalry than the COWBOYS-REDSKINS.. he is right. Those CARDINALS always played us hard (yes I’m a DIE HARD COWBOYS FAN) QB #17 Jim Hart n company always gave us a run for our money..

At 9:45 Tex hating on Cardinals RB Terry Metcalf (father of future Longhorns and Cleveland Browns RB Eric Metcalf) Tex commenting on Metcalf “hurdling” a Vikings defender.. he claims it’s illegal to do that.. I was born in ‘68 and watched the NFL during most of the ‘70’s and ‘80’s I can recall former Oklahoma Sooner Joe Washington “hurdling” players when he played with the Baltimore Colts and the Washington Redskins.. one of those was on a Monday Night Football game.. I said all that to say this.. I’ve never known that to be illegal nor do I recall an official flagging anyone during a game for “hurdling” THANK YOU POSTING ANDY GOD BLESS YOU

Remember when NFL was so wholesome? Punt, pass and kick contest we're oftentimes broadcast on TV. Now it's become such a disappointment at what it's become. They've been trying and trying to get the NFL to go global because the entire business world was doing it. Now times have changed and we're at the twilight of globalism. Being replaced by nationalist, populist and traditionalist emphasizing national identity, traditions and customs. This shift will continue and even grow stronger and stronger. It's the paradigm shift. Always happens.

What I remember about the Tom Landry Show back in 1971 was it appeared on Sunday morning - 1/2 hour before the start of the NFL broadcasts. At the end of the show, Coach Landry led a prayer. It was epic. Solid, God-fearing man and legendary coach.

But his mishandling of Duane Thomas kept them from winning another Super Bow until they drafted TD.
@t4texastom587 Жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-kz8yo Mishandling of Duane Thomas?? You've got to be kidding. As everyone knows, Duane Thomas was GIVEN way more opportunities than he deserved. If you were around then, and obviously you weren't......then you would know what happened.🏈
@mwmann Жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-kz8yo I'm 68. I grew up in Dallas and was a huge Cowboy fan. I ran into Duane Thomas in a 7/11 near Duncanville Texas in the early 80s. Nice guy. A different guy then he was when he played. We talked briefly about his days as a Cowboy. He said coach Landry and playing for the Cowboys was one of the highlights of his life. I believe he knows he blew it back in those days. Live and learn. That's how it will be for this generation of malleable pronoun lgbtq supporting people when they get older. At least any of them with a lick of sense. They'll be embarrassed over their childish insanity when they grow up and smell the coffee so to speak. Duane Thomas grew out of his nonsensical rebellious put on attitude. There comes a time when it's time to shut up, give it a rest and respect yourself as well as others.
