Yeah I worry about that to, when they ship reptiles it’s much worst, it’s newspaper inside a container inside a newspaper filled cardboard box, the blue blanket I use is very light, I got it from Walgreens, when you hold it up against the window it’s near see through, idk what the material is called, too bad the KZfaq comment section doesn’t allow pics, that whole 5 foot blanket feels like it’s less then a pound.

I saw a post of a lady holding a LEWISI hybrid but it didn't look like a Cuban cause it had a boofy head like a rhino and it didn't have the horns on it and I can't much tell the differents and Idk if rhinos are capable of cross breeding with Cayman iguanas so just here to ask if they are actually capable of it

This is distressing to reptiles. Nature will take care of the removal of the shed, rarely ever does it need human intervention. They are able to breathe until the shedding process is complete. It makes me cringe when I see people using tweezers and ripping off the skin because it would be like people picking and ripping off our scabs. The scabs need to remain until the skin is healed. It's the same concept. Let nature take its course. The reptiles may seem to be very patient and accepting because they don't run away, however the shedding process takes a lot of energy. We are not to touch the reptiles until it's complete.

I don’t agree at all, it popped right off, I think he breaths way better afterwards. You can see how much was inside his nose. A scab is a wound a shed is not a wound. Does hurt it taking a dandruff out of your scalp? He has never bled from shed removal, trust me if it hurt him you won’t be getting that reaction from him lol

@@Boshi_The_Last_Dragon thank you for pointing out the fact that a scab is from a wound, whereas shedding is not. I had not thought of that. I've just always heard to leave reptiles alone when they're shedding and let nature take its course.

How long till he's full grown?

They can take up to 10 years to get full grown, but reptiles don’t stop growing until they croak. He’s going to do most of his growing in the next 2 years then when he’s 5 it’ll slow down and then when he’s 10 it’ll really slow down. Maybe an inch a decade after that. I hope that answers it.

All my 23 lizards are demanding and affectionate. Our big family revolves around our reptibabies as we call them. We built a home and over half of our house is for them. Anyone who visits knows, you come here pick someone to cuddle because they demand attention or else they get upset, angry and cry! Lizards get their stimulation from their family while fur babies get stimulation from being outdoors and running free. My lizards go outside with me but refuse to get off of me while dogs I had long ago would happily walk or run off for fun. I believe, you want a life where your pets are more independent get a dog or a cat…but lizards are NOT independent…they NEED constant interactions. People mistakenly think, oh buy an enclosure and take lizard out once in awhile. While people CAN do that, your lizards will be miserable!!!! Lizards are like babies while fur pets are like kids in elementary school. This comes from a family who has kept lizards for the last 34 years.

I completely agree, they are underrated because they don’t speak the same language as other pets, often misunderstood, they are not primitive, just different, Bobo comes to me and climbs on my shoulder and licks my face almost daily, It’s sounds you’re living in harmony with your pets and you’re doing it right. 🤙

@@Boshi_The_Last_Dragon We love our babies! They are such blessings! My iguana Raichu has to spend every minute with his face plastered on ours. Pika, our other iguana and Cotu love to do the same. Our 3 Egyptian uromastyx have to sit next to us all day, Yochi our male has to be pet throughout the day or he panics, we carried him Everywhere for 2 years. We have carseats so they can travel in our mini bus we drive. We truly devote our lives to them and soon we are adding a new Lizard room to our house with their own kitchen, refrigerator, washer and dryer, dishwasher, bathroom, etc. We have huge lounge areas with cat towers and window seats in every window of the house. We custom built our home with walls of windows just for them. We hope to also begin an outside garden bigger then our last house and indoor one too. Hubby and I have lists of major expansion just for them. With 7 kids from 27-10 everyone here loves lizards! ❤
