Wish you were still making videos like this 😢 such an honest reaction to a beautiful film

I really want to watch you watch one of my fav films... but you just never seem to mentally chill long enough to let the story land with you emotionally. We watch these reaction videos , not for a play-by-play commentary consisting of out-of-context musings consisting of thoughts completely unrelated.

Huge thanks to Rudi Dolezal who put this video together so skilfully. What a shame they didn't ever perform this live together. You might like to react to "One Vision" which shows the band in the studio. It's fascinating to watch and a great song too based on Martin Luther King's famous speech.

Brian said quite recently that the song was about Freddie who was going through a bad breakup but he didn't say this at the time to respect his privacy. One of the things I love about this performance is the difference you can hear between Brian's piano style and Freddie's. One of my favourite Queen songs (or at least it is today.)

Another great musical to react to is "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" from 1967!

Two interesting behind-the -scenes facts: 1: The Good Mornin' dance scene took around 14 hours to film, and by the end it actually caused burst blood vessels in Debbie Reynolds' feet. 2: During the filming of the Singin' in the Rain dance scene, Gene Kelly was very sick, with a fever of 103°, and the water used in the scene caused his wool suit to shrink.

Please be sure to watch 1954's The Glenn Miller Story starring Jimmy Stewart and June Alyson. Also, 1967's Thoroughly Modern Millie starring Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Channing, John Gavin, James Fox, and Beatrice Lillie. A few fun facts about this iconic film: Donald O'Connor was smoking 5 packs of cigarettes a day and collapsed after the "Make 'Em Laugh" scene! Gene Kelly insisted on refilming the "Good Morning" sequence over and over again from 8:00am till 11:00pm when Debbie Reynolds feet were bleeding through her shoes! The doctor suggested that she have 2 weeks off to recuperate. The studio only gave her 2 days! Gene Kelly was coming down with pneumonia and had 103°F fever while performing the "Singing In The Rain" number. They had to wait until like 3:00am to shoot it because a drought was taking place, and local residents were flushing toilets, continuously lowering water pressure. And yes, Jean Hagen's real voice was used for the "Dancing Cavalier's" final song, "Would You", because Debbie's voice was deemed too high and young sounding... 👱🎙️🧑‍🦰

The scene where he kisses her on the forehead has been criticized by the lense of today. View it through the lense of 1959 and it is a totally different view.

You were talking during the most important monologue of the film. wth? When she was on stage and went off script. The other channel that watched this did the same. Young people can't focus on a film. You either watch the film or talk after. As a filmmaker when I was young, we enjoyed making films. Not being talked over. 😅 Experience the character. These videos of people watching films are nothing but analyzing. Meanwhile the depth of the film gets lost in your constant blabbing. I suppose not being able to focus on one thing is rampant in young people. I know you have an audience but that audience ate people who have seen the film. I bet watching a film with your friends is full of chit chat. Very frustration. Practice mindfulness when viewing a film in fact do it daily. -The Holy Grail of love stories. ❤

Some of the best is Big John by Jimmy Dean, 16 Ton by Tennessee Ernie Ford, Kiss a Angel Good morning by Charlie Pride or Folsom Prison Blues, A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash. Also 7 Spanish Angels by Willie Nelson and Ray Charles. There is a song covered by several artists, Kawaguchi done by Hank Williams Sr. And Charlie Pride both put their spin on it and do a great job of it. These are the ol timers of country music, love them all.

First time watching your channel. You were dwelling too much on questions on 'how', 'why'... This is not a movie you worry about logic and science and 'how did this happen?'. This is a movie you feel and that really needs no explanation.
