It's extremely high powered; The vacuum of space doesn't help dissipating heat.

@@moss8702 High calibre guns/ rifles barrels dont get hot because of the size of the calibre they got hot with the amount of rounds being fired. On the space point for some reason i had it in my head space is cold so it would cool things down, but if theres no particals to heat up the heat cant go anywhere, but space is super cold so im gonna go read up on how that works . you got the synapses firing :)

@@doctoronishispsychosislab1474 The larger the caliber, the hotter it gets because there's more propellant. Especially if it's a fairly big caliber meant to be carried by someone (even a super human). They'll still need to save on weight so i'm assuming the barrel isn't gonna be artillery-piece thick. So a pretty thin-walled barrel shooting a very hot round in the vacuum of space i'm sure it's not too far fetched. After 2 rounds I def don't think it would heat up that fast. But I also don't know the lore on what they're shooting. For all I know it could be a steel uranium tipped doohicky that also uses standard brass casings

That's a nice touch, that the barrel glows red from the first shot. And only glows brighter. In a vacuum, the heat has no way to dissipate except as radiation and light.
