I really like this performance, it has a good mix of delicacy and expressiveness. I find many performances of this piece missing something, but this just hits the spot!

Classical perfoming of this song is much better to ears. What I don't like in opera style performing songs is that you CAN'T hear normal words in songs and the range of voice volume is too wide, sometimes a whisper, sometimes almost a scream.

Nicely done! I’ve been listening to different recordings, and it’s interesting to hear a lot of the “drama” of the first movement saved towards the end of it in this performance. Lovely “color palettes”!

Daniel, we have not forgotten your magnificent recital here in Ames, Iowa. You were our last piano recital until two years later, due to Covid. I came upon this by accident and was thrilled to see this performance on the screen! -- Paula Forrest

Bravo, Daniel!!! What a beautiful performance. We remember you fondly here in Ames, Iowa for the Town & Gown concert series in 2019. I hope you're doing well! ... and enjoying the occasional pizza! :)

The pauses are intriguing. Changes in pace and rhythm too. The pitch choice is so limited but so much still comes out in the piece.

There's a saying old Says that love is blind Still we're often told "Seek and ye shall find" So I'm going to seek A certain lad I've had in mind Looking everywhere Haven't found him yet He's the big affair I cannot forget Only man I ever think of with regret I'd like to add his inital to my monogram Tell me Where is the shepherd For this lost lamb? There's a somebody I'm longin' to see I hope that he turns Out to be Someone who (to) watch over me I'm a little lamb who's lost in the wood I know I could always be good To one who'll watch over me Although he may not be the man some girls think of as handsome to my heart he carries the key Won't you tell him please to put on some speed Follow my lead oh, how I need someone to watch over me There's a somebody I'm longin' to see I hope that he turns Out to be Someone who (to) watch over me I'm a little lamb who's lost in the wood I know I could always be good To one who'll watch over me Although he may not be the man some girls think of as handsome to my heart he carries the key Won't you tell him please To put on some speed Follow my lead Oh, how I need Someone to watch over me Someone to watch over me

I know this is years after it was recorded but you both did an awesome job interpreting these beautiful pieces. They are so difficult: Sophia, you meet each of the technical hurdles with well-crafted skill and share the texts with heart and understanding; Grant, you truly make the most of each musical gesture and dynamic. Great job, both of you. I hope you have gone to onto your careers with much deserved success!

Wonderfully performed, ahhh very beautiful indeed. So often overpowered and "noisy" both on record and live, but here the quintet is kept within the realm of true chamber music. Within, without limits! Less is more, as always. A treasure performance, the ensemble shall be very proud of their hard work to reach this level.
