I love the original. I remember the first new watch I ever bought myself in the early 1990s was a seiko 5, it has a laser etched logo in the 6 o’clock position of the glass that my two newer seiko 5s don’t have. It’s like the quality was higher years ago.

Those who don't like the rear strap on a NATO should purchase the RAF version ie same material but one strap, the second strap on the army version is there for a reason as you know ( and mention ) however maybe civvies don't need those requirements anyway..... although your starp is to say the least looks a winner in my book I would be left with the problem I could lose the watch without bar security of the NATO . And of course I would have to pay for it unlike the NATO one given free .......... along with the watch !. One can also wear the NATO as a NATO with no alteration giving a single strap pass feel and height we just set them up differently and slip our hand through the formed loop and then do the buckle up

I have two Seiko Snx's, one i got for about 120 Dollars with a blue dial and a gold colored one for around 200 dollars , they are pretty good watches , i could imagine owning only one 100 Dollar seiko 5 Snx...., they look stylish to me .

Yeah the decoration on the movement or the lack there of is shocking. Just look at one display caseback at the AD. It reminds me of my cheap Seiko watch. Not good!

Crazy how a $400 price tag is considered expensive for a seiko. Compared to all the overpriced timepieces out there. Seiko fanboys kill me with this. You worship the brand but will cry about pricing? If you truly are a fan then stop under valuing the brand by complaining about the price. A true GMT or Diver from a very renowned brand is great.

I would preffer to win old SNXS for sure and just buy new bracelet. Then probably I would buy sapphire crystal

I own both a Tsuyosa (ice blue) and a PRX (dark blue), and while the Citizen is a really nice, everyday watch with great finishing and a beautiful bracelet, after almost a year it still didn't "click". Everytime I wear my PRX, I just can't stop looking at it. The stunning bracelet that shimmers in the light, the sunburst dial that ranges from an almost black tone to a breathtaking navy blue, the handset, the indices.... I feel like to me, the overall package is more coherent and pleasing for the eyes than the Tsuyosa's. Again, just my 2 cents. But it's interesting to see other perspectives and opinions - that's what's so great about our hobby after all! 🥰

This is a great GMT watch, the Seiko SSK001, for its unbelievably low price it is a super value for a good GMT watch. Its MSRP is $475 and the lowest online price I found is $255 delivered.

The 4R is a downgrade in character IMO. I might as well wear a 5 cent no brand quartz movement, if I consider wearing a 4R movement watch. The 7S had soul, the 4R is a mass produced optimised dull movement with no attention being payed to it, where not even any ingravings are done, for cost cutting purposes.

I get the sense that nostalgia got the better of you. I think there are two major reasons why it might do that: The old watch has more delicate dial. The new watch jas big thick indexes that put me off at first. The other reason is the bracelet: loose bracelets are actually more comfortable, provided they don't pull hairs or bite the skin. But - you know the old watch through and through. The new one is in the uncanny valley for you and that is u forgivable. The fact is, the market is changing. Japan is where Switzerland used to be alone, while China took the bargain spot.
