Emi Choi EP confirmed! Fascinating to hear how a person with just about the best vocal timbre in the realm once had qualms about it. And great to see Emi continually hit those peaks as her artistry moves onwards 🎶

It's great to see and hear from Instant Onion! I've only loved his work from afar for years. I had no idea he even lived in Canada haha

I mean, yeah, working at McDonalds sucks, but if you’re going to work at McDonalds it’s probably not helpful to focus on the fact that it sucks. Like if you can get a really zen attitude going about filling up milkshakes and wrapping up burgers, that’s probably better for you than the people I see there that look like they’re hating life. And again, I’m not saying that you should delude yourself that it’s a great job. M just saying that having a depressed negative attitude about your crappy job doesn’t help. I’ve learned this from all the shitty jobs I used to have. Like I was loading packages on trucks at UPS, I started at 4am in the morning. Nothing but carrying boxes and putting them on a truck for five hours straight. You can either make that worse by thinking, “God I hate this. This is stupid. The people here suck. I want to go home,” or you can keep yourself entertained like, “I’m going to stack this up even faster than yesterday. I’m going to imagine I’m in training to do Kung Fu or something and this is what my master told me I had to do to get stronger.” Whatever it takes to make the work easier you know? I did another gig as a family portrait photographer at Sears. Minimum wage. Annoying customers. Crying babies. And again, if you want to go into work thinking about minimum wage, annoying customers, crying babies, your day is gonna suck. If you want to come into work with an attitude like maybe you’re going to bring your A game and make some family photos people are going to love forever, your day is much easier. Just trying to lend some perspective. Most people don’t work at McDonalds because it’s their dream job, they do it because they have to. But if you have to go in there and do what you gotta do, why do you want to make it even worse by having a bad attitude? Like is your day really better because you spend it moping and dragging ass and mumbling under your breath, or is that negativity part of what makes your day bad?

Yall kept talking about conventions, so as I was listening, I started looking up conventions to see what's around my area. Any recommendations on what convention I should go to as someone who's never been nor who knows how they actually work ? Also, thanks for bringing on another cool artist, I'm definitely going to follow instant_onion, but like.. is the shop not open permanently 😭 I wanna buy some art. Or like can we only buy at conventions ?? Omg I'll have to sneak into Canada now 😲 Great advice as always Edit: I guess I have to wait until March.. eeee I'm excited to support Also, I love that you bring on different types of artists, whether it be musical artists, digital artist, cinematographers, photographers, etc.. art in general is really cool and I enjoy everyone you bring on

thank you for the kind words! when it comes to conventions, there's usually a lot to do from artist alleys where you can buy prints from people like instant_onion, panels with voice actors/celebrities with various activities at the venue as well. You could buy single day tickets usually or a weekend pass if you trynna hit up everything. I enjoy going when to check out my favourite artist's booth personally!

Bro just dropped it like it's hot 😭 Im back after watching now: Why does everyone who comes onto the pod have such cool jobs ?! Like I find all their jobs so interesting, and hearing the stories of how they got started really shows that with a little bit of luck(sometimes alot of luck), hard work, and passion, you can make it. Also I find it so crazy that his advice was to overcome your ego and be okay with being 💩 because I was literally having that same conversation with a friend the other day and I honestly believe that your ego can ruin your career before you even start it. I'm honestly loving these episodes. I can't wait to see what other cool people you bring on. I'm looking forward to hearing more stories ♡

Congrats on sobriety 👏🏼❤ Also, I feel like being an independent artist is more rewarding because you have more freedom over your craft. I'm not sure how true that is, but I've always believed that.
