I stoped straightening my hair my freshman year of college in 2019. Since then I have straightened in less than a hand full of times. At this point it just doesn’t feel like me anymore. I graduated a couple of months ago and for my graduation photos I wore my hair in a curly mohawk. I look at those pictures and it is the most me I have ever felt. I have taken the past almost 5 years to get to know my hair and I’m still figuring something’s out. I don’t think there is anything wrong with straightening your hair I just know it’s not what makes me feel happy. Rocking my curls, finger coils, Afro, twist/ twist outs, braids, and protective styles make me feel amazing.

“What happened to your hair” can be both a good or bad sentence based on the tone of the person saying it. In a good version, it would mean that the person is expressing curiosity and interest (and tbh id ask someone too what happened if one day their hair was one thing and suddenly something else the next day).
