Excellent guide to the Mini 302! This video gave me confidence and knowledge like no other training video I have found. Thank you! I hope Educator Collars recognizes what a value you've added for their product. I was about to wrap it all up and ship it back until I watched this helpful and informative video.

Excellent video. I started out with the Dogtra Arc and was thinking of upgrading because the one I have doesn’t have a lock or a boost and you have to use a toggle to do between the nick and constant.

My educator e collar feels much different against my palm vs the soft underside portion of my forearm. So for me, my forearm is much more sensitive than my palm area. So level 20-25 on my forearm is slightly uncomfortable. So be careful with your puppies so they don't get fearful of this very useful training device.

Have your dog loose in a room, not paying you any attention.Then, start at 1, move up levels 1 at a time, The dog may look for a fly when first persieving the collar sensation. I then threw treat. Repeat no less than 3 times, no more than 5. End that training session.

This is an excellent video!! Wish I had seen yours first, but glad to see it now. I've been using this great collar on a Border Collie puppy that I ended up with when he was way too much dog for the intended owner to handle. (I've been breeding/training BC's for 50 years and training even longer than that, so know what I am doing.). He has been a tough dog to raise and the e-collar has been a true god-send! And he LOVES his collar!! When I get him out of his crate in the morning and he sees that I have his collar in hand, he comes running over to put his head right in. At 10 months now, he is turning out to be a very good dog. My question is this: when I got this pup, I ordered the E-300 collar. Finding out how wonderfully it worked, I recently was given a second one. I thought that I could use that on another dog with a few issues I would like to solve remotely. However, then I wondered if I could have both dogs out together (with the two remote units) and be able to correct just one at a time or would I have to get the two unit remote system in order NOT to correct the wrong dog? I'm afraid I may have made a mistake in getting this second E-300 since I still want to keep the one collar on the puppy when outside with them both. Hope you can answer this and that I have made it clear. Thanks.

Does this give the dog a shock?
@valorielewis2858
@valorielewis2858 Жыл бұрын
at the higher settings sort of, it's more like a static shock than an electric shock. Low levels feels like a bug crawling on you. E collars are much safer than shock collars because they don't send eclectic shocks that can burn. most dogs are very responsive to level 4-7 but the mini educator goes up to 100 but that's extreme in 99% of cases.

also your dog's neck is much more sensitive than most places on your body's so just because you can't feel it doesn't mean your dog can't.

Thanks! For myself if i use the ecollar for 1-2hrs a day for a hike or walk and make sure to turn it off after it will last at least a week sometimes 2 weeks. It charges within 2hrs also with rapid charge. If you kept the collar on all day like 8 hrs for example while camping or something then turned it off at night the battery last about 3 days. If you use the night light function on the collar though it will only last about 2 full days of full day use plus night time nightlight while camping or being out alll day. The battery is very good considering it takes 2hrs to charge and last a really long time and is rechargeable. I also have a car charger so i can charge it when out on trips with my dog. Also if the battery starts to not hold charge say after 3-5 years of use of the collar you can replace the collar cheaply through ordering a new one.

Great video. I have a question about toggling the controller without stimulating the dogs. Let's say the controller is on dog 1 and I want to turn the light on for dog 2. Is there a way to toggle to dog 2 without issuing any kind of corrections (tone, vibrate, or stim)? The particular case would likely include a level lock on dog 2 already set so turning the dial to zero might not be a solution. Thanks.
@michaelguerrero7649

So my mini educator came today. Turns out you can toggle between dog 1 and dog 2 without correcting the dogs by using the T (tap) button. it toggles between tap, dog 1, and dog 2. Perfect. I can easily put a light on for dog 2 without having to correct it, but while keeping the locked in stim level.

Thank you for a very good demonstration. What is the difference between the Mini 302 and Mini Et-302. I want it for two dogs; one 20 lbs. the other under 10 lbs. Will this system work?
@valleycaninetraining
@valleycaninetraining 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Leigh I think you meant to act whats the difference between the mini educator et-302 and the micro educator. The difference is the size of the receiver on the collar. The micro is smaller and lighter for smaller dogs and the mini is a regular sized ecollar receiver. For your dogs i would suggest either 2 micro collars or one micro for your 10 pound dog and a mini for the 20 pound dog. Thanks!

Thanks for this thorough and professional tutorial! I learned a lot and feel so much more confident with this device. Question… I notice the collars can’t stim at the same time. Is there a way to fix this? For example… I have 2 reactive dogs that see a squirrel at the same time and both dogs bolt towards it… how do I correct both dogs simultaneously? And in this scenario it would nice to be able to boost both of them but I’m not seeing that you can do that either. What do you recommend? Thank you!
@valleycaninetraining
@valleycaninetraining 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching Kristine. Unfortunately there is no way to stim 1 dogs at the same time. What I usually suggest is whichever dog listens the best or is more of the leader (for example if i call my one dog both usually come because one follows the other) then i call that dog first. I suggest practicing getting fast at recalling one after the other and boosting if needed (you can set separate boosters for each dog). I recommend to practice this with just the remote at home and time yourself to increase the speed of your recall/pressing the buttons. Also if you work on a quick recall with your dogs you should be able to call both back separately within a few seconds. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions. You can also email us at [email protected] Or check out our website www.valleycanine.net

@@valleycaninetraining Thanks for asking that question, Kristine....and the answer is understandable and with my two dogs, a boarder collie mix and a lab mix, the lab is the leader. If I may add, Miss Valley Training, I am soooooo glad you made this video. I have had the 2-dog system for more than a month and just learning how all this works is a bit daunting!!! I have watched, or tried to watch, more than a few video instructions...well, probably more like 10! They are either full of "uuuhs", too hard to understand or not well prepared at all...one lady even was trying to describe it while taking care of an infant that wasn't too happy with what mama was doing!!! 😬 Anyway, so glad I kept looking and found you. Your voice is pleasing, great diction, you are prepared and organised, it seems you know the material very well, as well as all the Educator parts. The only thing I could suggest is the movement of the items, when close to the camera, it gets blurry and I felt a little sea sick trying to keep watching the transmitter while you were moving it around. Otherwise, your video is head and shoulder above everyone else, even the folks that make the Educator. That guy was pretty bad...😒 So, I will be tuning in again and again to keep up with what I need to practice next - many thanks for the excellent video!!!
