@HotZTrain 0 seconds ago When I paint a door, I always remove it, take all the hardware off, clean it with Simple Green lay it flat. It make the paint job look much better. If you have trouble replacing one of the doors, Murphy's Law, loosen the henges on the door frame. That will give you wiggle room. I like to use a smaller screw drive on the top hinge, then pin the bottom two, then remove the screw drive and replace the top pin. Put some petroleum jelly on the hinge pins.

Any info or lessons learned on measuring and ordering replacement doors? Do places generally take measurements on door slab size? Or should I remove the trim and measure the width/height of the casement? I'm hearing that it's the latter.

What size door did you start with and what was the size of the new door when you bought it? My orginal door 79 inches tall. I bought an 80 inch tall door. When I align the doorknob holes, the new door is shorter at the top than the old door by 2inches…the new door is longer at the bottom by 2.5 inches. If I cut the bottom of the new door, wont that leave a large gap at the top of the door (between the door and the door frame)?
