Good morning sweet Rosa ♥ I also have a small kitchen with very little counter space and it is very lacking in storage! I currently have bookshelves to put stuff on and I found a countertop upstairs so I had my husband build a breakfast bar which kind of serves the same purpose as you cart. We can sit and eat on one side and on the other it holds some kitchen appliances and mason jars of dry goods. The bar is powered up so I can plug my slow cooker into it and other kitchen appliances! I do have a stainless steel cart that is very similar to yours but it has the toaster oven and some plants on it and totes with spices and food on the shelves below. Like you we also have other things in the kitchen taking up space. You have a pack and play and we have a standup freezer! I have something similar to your wire basket which by the way I am loving them! Mine have magnets on them and can attach to things in the kitchen. I have two on my freezer and two on my refrigerator. I use then for the spices I am constantly using! I love spices. They can make something boring taste amazing! I think you have done a great job of maximizing your space in your kitchen. I am always measuring like you to see what I can do to maximize mine as well! Can I ask how much property you have your home on? Do you live in the city or country? We live on the edge of the city so we do not have many neighbors. We are allowed to have some animals like chickens, goats, pigs, rabbits and sheep. We have been discussing having a couple goats for the milk to make butter, cheese, and yogurt plus of course the milk. And they are good lawnmowers! We have the chickens already. And some rabbits to help with the cost of meat due to inflation.

I love hearing about your kitchen, we seem to live in the same kitchen ha-ha. I'm still learning with the spices. We have a little more than 1/2 an acre. We're in the city but in our area the countryside is starting, so get both sides. I would say the edge like you. So cool, we are newly weds, but maybe we will have all the animals one day. Glad you have some animals, so nice.

@@Pigmentscript I like your property it is very nice! You have a lot of room to do stuff as long as you are allowed due to being on the "edge:" of the city like me. Most places allow laying hens now but limit the amount you can have its usually between 4 and 6 and no roosters.

Good morning Rosa ♥ I am originally from Washington state born and raised but my husband and I moved across the United states to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to buy a house sight unseen. We are about 15 miles above the top of Wisconsin. Am I correct that you turned lentils into refried beans? What a great idea I love lentils! I use lots of beans for cooking but never thought about using lentils like that. I love beans they have so much flavor and are a great source of protein. They are very frugal and practically a forever food like white rice! What is the white stuff in the bowl that was a side dish? I Love using black beans for refried! They have such a nice flavor but my most favorite are probably mayocoba beans. Stay blessed Rosa!

I've never had mayocoba beans. I will have to look them up. Wow, I want to visit Washington state one day and Michigan sounds so big and distant ha-ha. Yes, exactly you boil the lentils with salt and any spices you like and then blend them and you can fry them if you like. I think that was just some bad looking leftover rice.

Good morning Rosa ♥ You are so correct on the inflation. I don't know how a lot of people are doing it. I have always kept a large pantry. I think it started when the couponing craze started. But it is a good thing because when covid came and things were scarce we were fine. If you ask around you may be able to get some food grade buckets at your local grocery in the bakery or deli for free. You can use these to store bulk dry goods then you can cut costs. Otherwise if you have a Walmart nearby they run around $5 to $6 for the bucket and lid. Free is better. Just make sure if used it is food grade and from a food product. Do you save your kitchen scraps from your fruits veggies and egg shells to make a compost? When its done you can mix it with your soil and plants love it! Our dirt has lots of roots, pebbles and sand in it. Slowly we have been sifting it and then mixing it with a little potting soil to make it better. It is a slow process. Thank you for sharing. Stay blessed!

Good morning Rosa ♥ We just moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan almost 10 months ago and went from city living to rural. Our cat is also a hunter. Birds, mice, squirrels, and chipmunks. I don't know why I still feed him kibble. Using the soil from your yard is a great way to save money. Do you have a compost pile? If you did you could mix it with the soil you dig up. I love that you used old milk jugs and made greenhouses out of them. This is a fantastic idea! I will have to try it next year. I have a pretty big greenhouse to start my plants in and I have a lot of my house plants in it right now because the lighting in our house is not the greatest. They love it in there! I use to live in a different growing zone so I am having to relearn how to grow my garden plus we have a lot of critter who might eat my garden, and we have a shorter growing time. I planted a lot of herbs. I want to use them in my cooking and dry some.

Good morning Rosa ♥ I just found your page and subscribed. You are so full of grace Rosa! And your son is beautiful! He is so good and quiet while you film your videos! Like you I also do a lot of whole cooking. Unlike you my children are grown and having their own children. So it is just my husband and I. In 2020 when covid happen I stopped to wonder why for the first time ever a coronavirus would shut down the world. It was a huge eye opener for us! We made a decision that spring that we wanted a new way of life. We paid off all our debt and we started saving. In 2023 we moved 1800 miles and bought a livable fixer upper on 1/3 an acre sight unseen for less than the price of a new car. We are in our early 50's and wanted to slow down and enjoy life. I now work part-time as a substitute teacher pre-K through 12th grade and my husband is retired. We arrived at our house the end of September 2023 and are putting things in place to be self sustainable. We have chickens for eggs, and a small garden like you. We have planted berry bushes and grapes so hopefully in a few years we will be able to enjoy them! We plan on planting some fruit and nut trees as well. We are debt free and mortgage free. We live on a very small income. We love God, and like you we want to put good nutritious food into our bodies! Your tortillas look beautiful mine never come out looking store bought but they taste good! Your huevos con Chile looks delicious! My favorite Mexican dish is Chile Relleno. I need to find a recipe and attempt to make it. So far I have not seen much ethnic places to eat here. So I will have to learn to make my favorite things now. Do you compost your garden scraps and eggs? Have you considered getting chickens? I buy in bulk and store my dry goods in 5 gallon food grade buckets. This way I am able to stock up on sales. Sometimes you can get the buckets at the bakery for free at your local store. Thank you for sharing the scripture! Stay blessed!

I had supernatural encounters with God. He allowed me to see Satan in the spiritual realm in 2020 in my home. Also I had a transgender teenager son at the time wanting to be a female. He gave me my son back in the summer of 2020. I saw 👀 with my own eyes the spirit come off him. I’m grateful to God. I’m in an answered prayer as we speak of being back at home. A homemaker. Let him to continue to work on you and stay in his word continually seeking him above everything and He will provide everything. He always makes a way. Ask him to help you to buy a half a cow and other resources. He will make a way for you!!!! Trust in God alone!!!!

Hope you are having a blessed day. Don't give up. Keep going. It will get easier once things become more automatic for you. You'll figure out short cuts that work for you. As a mom of 4, I did 1 a month shopping (usually in 1 day🥴). I also tried really hard to have at least 1 cooking day a month too. I did some meals that I froze but mostly I cooked or prepped ingredients to make things much easier when it was time to make meals. If you are able to when you see really good sales, buy it to be stocked up. You'll already have it on hand and won't have to get it next month. My husband is a stay at home dad. It was/is a struggle for 1 income but you do find out what's really important and what you can do without. Going back yo basics & simpler things has been a Godsend for us.
