I recommend not having ducks in the creek. It will be nasty downstream. It’s more work intensive filling a small pool but better environmentally. Living traditions is a good example of how to build with a valve to empty it and fill with a hose.

Where can I find the first video where you guys actually set up and made the garden 1 year ago from this vlog. I watched it a while ago but I can't seem to find it anymore on any of your vlog channels.

I know this video is 2 years old, but Your dog looks EXACTLY like my great pyrenees female, she's 1.5 years old. Other than him looking a little bit bigger, they look almost identical! Even their mannerisms. I wonder if they're related somehow?

We have a male great pyreneese and we are adopting a rescue Great Pyrenees female. The one that we already have notices anything that is out of places or changed. He patrols the property and doing perimeter check. We live in Idaho coyote country and he keeps them away. He likes Pears, apples, plums, peaches, carrots, broccoli, lettuce, cheese, scrambled eggs. We fell in love with the breed.

We have two great Pyrenees. One is a border collie mix, and he was given to us. He was living in an apartment, and when the household was away every day at work and school, they put this dog in the cage, and the cage was dented from the inside out, and he wasn’t even able to turn around in it! It’s a miracle he wasn’t totally ruined! He had some severe issues initially, but we worked those out. The only thing he has left is anxiety upon separation. But this dog is absolutely brilliant! We’ve watched him herd and round up animals. And it is amazing. We have a two-year-old that we bought as a puppy for $100. I’ve never paid for a dog before in my life but I wanted a full-blooded Pyrenees and they are not expensive in this area of Kentucky. The border collie Pyrenees lived in North Dakota and loves the outdoors even in the bitter cold winters. It gets down to -65° in North Dakota all often on throughout the winter. When my husband got the tractor out to plow snow, he would lay outside in the snowbank or walk around and do whatever he wanted the entire time. My husband was out there he wouldn’t come in the house. And it was 25 and 30 below zero on days like that. They are designed to be able to endure bitter cold like that having migrated from the Pyrenees mountains of France, where they protected the sheep from wolves. They also are able to cool them selves off with the double coat that they have. Mini mistake their independence for untrained or ill behavior. That isn’t the case that’s part of their breed to be able to manage heard without a human is in their jeans. Those are some of the things that I kept in mind while training our great Pyrenees. We live on 48 acres and we don’t have any fences anywhere. We also live close to the highway and they have never been off the property onto that highway. We initially trained with the colors that vibrate and freighted and the dog and they work great. We have also found them to be very protective of their people. If we are in our truck and someone comes up and speaks to us, the dogs are fine. If someone comes up to the truck to pet the dogs or just touches the truck when they might be doing something like crossing the streets, the dogs come on Dunn and really scare the people! I absolutely love these dogs they are super amazing! Don’t get a great Pyrenees unless you have property to let them run and time to train them!

Thank you all so much for sharing your journey of land buying l, and some of the practical details. For example if wanting to build multigenerational homes on the land, some of the particulars, and some of the many other challenges. I didn’t know about many of these things, and it’s helpful to know in advance. May the Father bless your journey and family.

We recently got an 8-year old Pyr named Daisy from a woman who could no longer take care of her. She is the sweetest, gentlest dog. And she is incredibly smart. Her prior owner told us Daisy did not like being inside, but we had to bring her inside for a few days due to the recent cold snap and now she LOVES coming inside to sleep on the rug in front of the fireplace. She is such a character! Love this breed.

I live in Kansas and we are in an area where the wind just never stops blowing. I also thought I had to wait until spring to get chicks until I ran across some information about raising chicks in the winter and allowing them to harden off in the spring. Apparently, doing so allows the birds more time to transition throughout the seasons in their adolescence and into early maturity, making them hardier birds in the long run. I am planning to test the theory this winter with breeds that naturally lay during that time of year.
