I haven't used them on the Rebel, i've used Bridgestone on an older bike i had, they make good tires, I can't remember if they had the Rebel's sizes. I like trying different brands, so far the Cruistecs are my favorite for the rebel, i plan on going back to them soon.

Thank you Frank!! In my experience and riding style, i prefer the cruistectecs and will be going back to them asap. The cruisetecs felt better in the rain and cold and also felt more comfortable in my experience, the dragon carcass is a bit too stiff. When the night dragons are still cold on a warm day, i often see the traction control light flashing under moderate acceleration, i didn't experience that with the cruistecs in the dead of winter with temps in the 30s under much harder acceleration. This could be because i have the night dragon GT on the rear which would imply a harder compound, regardless, from this end user's experience i prefer the cruistecs as i have more confidence in them when it matters most.

You said that Quasimotard had his battery go "flat". The BMS will only let the battery drain down to 20% but it will read 0vdc. This is to protect the battery. Some lithium batteries have a button you can push to access the last 20% so you can get the bike started and recharge it. Revzilla's Antigravity batteries have this feature.

I have another question. Have you checked the voltage at the battery when you first turn off the bike after it sat over night. It should be 13.2vdc. I'm thinking that maybe I should install a toggle switch on a pigtail that would disconnect the battery from the bike when it is going to be sitting for a while. The pigtail and switch would have to be rated for starting current.

Hi Gus, How are you doing? How is the Noco battery and your charging system doing. I may have to get one of those batteries. My bike is just 3 years old and the OEM battery is junk. After the bike sitting for less than 2 weeks, it wouldn't start. The lights lit up and it tried to turn over but there was not enough juice to get it started. I think they under rated the OEM battery. The other bikes I bought with a Yuasa battery, lasted about 7 years. I can leave my Valkyrie sit for 6 months and it has enough power to start it.

@@ontherebel11 I'm fine, thanks. My concern was not with the battery holding up but rather any affect on the charging system or starting system since the NOCO is a bit higher voltage. I gather that since you've been riding with the NOCO installed for three months, all is well. When I get a new battery, I will put the OEM one in my ATV since it is easier to start and when the key is off, all draw on the battery is disconnected. The issue with the Rebel is that there is always a current draw on the battery even when the key is off. One question, have you left the Rebel sit for a few weeks and then tried to start it? If I ride mine every day things are ok, it is only when it sits for a couple weeks that it won't start.
@ontherebel11
@ontherebel11 10 күн бұрын
@@jamescampolo7824 so far I haven't experienced anything with the bike's starting system and electronics due to the higher voltage. I have left the bike sitting for a couple of weeks without starting and it started right up, but QuasiMotard has the same battery and left his bike sitting for several weeks which led to the noco going flat on his bike, but he was able to get it charged and it is still working on his. 👍
@jamescampolo7824
@jamescampolo7824 10 күн бұрын
@@ontherebel11 That is what I was suspecting. There is a big draw on the battery even when it is off. Since you like to "tinker", how about checking the current draw between one of the battery polls and the battery cable when it is off to see what the current draw is. Try it with the negative connection since it is easier to get to.
@jamescampolo7824
@jamescampolo7824 10 күн бұрын
@@ontherebel11 I put a charger on the battery for a couple hours and the bike started. So, I surmise that it is the "fantom" voltage draw on the battery and not the battery itself. However, the NOCO does have a larger capacity so it would take longer to get drained enough to make it not start. After sitting about 2 weeks, my OEM battery was down to 12.0vdc, not enough to start.

Hi Lula! No matter what bike you decide to go with, it will be some sort of compromise. There is a reason why i didn't make the switch to the goldwing yet.... I know that i will struggle with the weight, and i have a tendency to drop bikes, so dropping a goldwing could easily be a couple of thousand dollars in damage... again, weight wise and financially out of my league.... I would recommend to test ride them if possible and let the decision come to you, just be honest with yourself on what you really want and what the intended purpose of the bike is.

@@ontherebel11 lots of good points. I went to a local Honda place last week and just sat on the 3 bikes I mentioned. I was surprised how light the Goldwing felt and how easy it was to move off the stand…it genuinely didn’t feel any heavier than the rebel or Africa twin. But I’d imagine you can definitely feel the weight at low speed driving. I do honestly like the value proposition of the rebel 1100T and IMO it is a great looking bike. I just worry that I will look “goofy” on the bike since I’m 6’ 240lbs (but I’ve been on a weight loss journey and hope to be down to 200 by the end of the year, already down 75 lbs!)..so maybe I won’t look too big for the bike if I get down to 200.

@@LulaPlays Wow, congratulations on your weight loss journey!!! i'm glad you shared your height with me, it could end up being a determining factor... Based on the feedback i've received over the last 3 years, the Rebel might not be a comfortable bike for you, i've seen it time and time again where a rider of your height invests significant money by adding forward controls, new suspension, seat and apes, only to accept that the bike doesn't fit them and then sell it and complain about it. FYI i am 5'7 with short legs and arms, so the rebel is ideal for my size with the aforementioned modifications. Another factor to consider is what do you intend to use the bike for, is it for touring long distance or just a 30 min ride around the neighborhood? If comfort is what you are looking for, the goldwing is the best of the best. Based on your height though, the Africa Twin is a very strong candidate for all around value/compromise. I wish i was tall enough to get the Africa twin, i'd get it in a heartbeat!
