If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Please repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior.

I followed you originally because we were set to graduate at the same time, and we started our residencies at that time which was so fun. I’ve been a nurse for 2 years now and i’ve grown and changed so much in the role and will continue to do because i am childless- that’s the sacrifice with being a woman with children- it’s like you have to chose if you want to be a mom or a professional.

I was just re-watching your experience interviewing for the NICU (and taking all of your awesome advice for myself! currently in my first semester of an ABSN program here in the US, and mind is set on the nicu after graduation.) and was happy to see this video come up! Congrats! Is this volunteer position part of the NHS? Just curious how it works with an American license over there! :)
@Abigaellanai
@Abigaellanai Жыл бұрын
Oh wow what good timing! So glad that video was helpful for you & so excited for your NICU journey, babies are the best 🥰. So I’m actually going to be volunteering on our military base! I could transfer my license but it’s very expensive, takes months to a year to process through, and NHS nurses make about what a CNA makes in the US but the cost of childcare is the same out here as it is in the US, so really I’d be working just to try to cover childcare. And to do all that for us to only be here for 2 more years feels kinda silly for me personally!

Fellow nurse/new mom here. I have 2 under 2, and had my first about a year out of school… I’ve basically stepped away completely from nursing and felt like I never got enough “new grad” experience and since I’ve been out of the profession now for a couple years (and don’t anticipate being able to go back until my babies are a little older like school age) I feel like I will be starting from square one when that time comes. Definitely had a lot of anxiety about it but have come to realize- the hospital will always be there. You will always be able to find a job. But your babies are only little once! These years are fleeting and you will never look back and regret time spent soaking up these precious times pouring into their lives…❤ we got this! 🎉

I wish more modest women would talk to this. When I first had my children I couldn’t enjoy being a mom because I felt that I was missing out on the career part of life. The media and friends pushed the idea that we can do it all. But the reality is rarely said. Realistically as women we do have a biological clock, and if we have the capacity and circumstances to have a family, children is a blessing and should be in our plans. I now regret not having another child. I now regret stressing out about life. Kids grow super fast, and we really can’t get those years back from their lives or ours, since we do grow old as well. Perhaps look into more traditional women influences to help you enjoy these years. I had friends that made me feel bad for taking care of my children, they were bitter, overachievers and not happy themselves. Modest can go along way. Religion helps too. I wish I had found a decent church to attend during those new mom’s years. And as a nurse, you can always go back to work part time, maybe 2 days a week. I knew moms who did it and it helped them feel better, it was a good break for them. Anyway, I believe in you. you can do this.

This is, honestly, a side effect of nursing school. They teach you in the first moment of nursing school that you can no longer have a life outside of nursing school and we carry that throughout our lives going forward. You will get another job when you want one. I promise. There is an ever increasing shortage of nurses. You will do just fine I promise!
