Margins are so bad in card hobby now I can barely make a profit on cards that are raw or PSA 9 and buying cards is ridiculously hard people charge 110% comps lol

It’s the direction the hobby is going. A lot of the shows I have been attending and setting up at have dealers holding their own at 95% to full comp. No need to discount lower anymore.

@@JBCards-nn9zi As a part time dealer myself, I get that. I hold pretty firm when I have truly rare, desirable cards. But if I had a case full of ultra modern football and somebody offered me 90% of comps across the board on everything (right before the season starts and prices likely trend down on most), I'm taking that all day. The dealer just didn't see too interested in selling, which is his choice of course.

I use it for receipts. Try to keep all of my stuff updated as the show goes on, but it’s nice to have a backup

AR going to be a monster he’s 6’4 runs a 4.4 with a rocket arm and his coach was the offensive coordinator for Jalen hurts as long as he doesn’t get injured again but the hype will still be there for year 3

I love how even the kids are using “You got room?” As a fellow dealer, it’s definitely starting to get repetitive at more and more shows. I’ve seen a lot of shows recently though where dealers aren’t budging below 90%. Finding cards is getting tougher all around.

You’ve been seeing that recently because the national is very close and there’s no point in selling cheap when you’ve spent months preparing a good inventory for the national. Especially football cards. I vendor pokemon so I don’t go but I’ve talked to guys that go to the national and I’ve heard crazy numbers.

@@balance1619 Fair, but at this point, I hope the trend continues. There is no need to take a loss below 5-10% below comps. I’ve been selling at shows and telling buyers, and a lot of repackers, that I don’t do the percentage of comps thing, and I just knock a few bucks off on a card by card basis. Some tell me that won’t do them any good and walk away, and some buy. People still want the cards and the collectors want to be able to compete.

I go to shows in Indiana on occasion when I visit relatives. How do Anthony Richardson and Tyrese Haliburton sell there right now? To answer your question, I think that Richardson is a huge sell right now before the season starts. I don't think that he's going to pan out at all, but the hype is there right now.
